I agree, interim belts should be in cases when the champ is out for a long time like when Cruz was injured and when Jones was suspended not when the next fight is between the champ and the paper champ.

It's smart business, it's not esoteric. At the end the day, the UFC is a business.
Interim belts equals larger end of the year revenue. From a bottom line perspective,
it's sagacious.
