Interests/Hobbies you have that you are surprised people around you have ZERO interest in?

Fencing/Kendo/HEMA

A lot of kids like pretending to be sword fighting/lightersabers when they're younger, I'm not sure where the passion goes

Spear fishing.

Most people are absolute pussies and scared of the water and sharks.
The only fishing I really cared for. Only went a few times, but it was a blast.

Is it me though, or do the fish know when you bring up the spear gun? Spear gun down and the fish would be all around me. Start lifting it up, and they would scatter. Asshole snook knew exactly when I wanted to go for it.

Ironically, younger people collect vinyl. You must be working with people your age or as old/young as 35.
Yeah now that you mention it there is a couple people I work with that have records... And they're under 30

In my circle of people a lot of us follow markets. Mainly co-workers. But we work in fintech.

I also collect vinyl.. I do have one not so close of a friend that collects records too.

Otherwise people look at me perplexed like it's so unheard of for people to listen to vinyl... They're like I just use Spotify or tell Alexa to play some shit.
my neighbor does fintech and side hustle of selling t-shirts..... no idea what he does outside of selling t-shirts...... I know there are a zillion bank apps, is it a support thing?

Just buy a capital weighted total market index fund with a low MER.

Ben Felix on youtube is good if you want data based information and not opinions. He takes a subject, reviews what the data says and cites a good half dozen sources on each video.

My company? We do retirement distribution payments basically( aka a trust company). Sometimes we hunt down former plan participants on behalf of a recordkeeper or third party administrator to get them off their books and get lost money back to these participants. We recently added an IRA product for these people in the event the don't have another plan to rollover to or want to take the cash a pay taxes.

We make most of our money off of processing fees and float and spread, which is why we kind of why we want these people to stay missing and not claim their funds lol.

We're one of like four companies nationwide that do what we do. As opposed to the millions of bank app companies, what we do has a fairly high barrier to entry since you need to be chartered and have to comply to strict DOL regulations.

I'm shocked every single day when I spend hours breathlessly ranting about the latest hot pro rasslin news and developments but still my friends and associates just set there showing zero interest and looking at me like I'm the weird one

My friends are all mid 30s and I had my Stag Do in Belgium Wrestlemania weekend, we ended up staying up all night watching classic matches and Wrestlemania after we got in from night out.

Definitely powerlifting, but if I had to pick something more specific it would be street photography. At least what I consider good street photography like magnum photographers or modern day equivalents

They scatter if you move fast, need to do slow movements to not scare them!

That being said some fish species are way harder to hunt than others.

I'm into following the financial markets. Futures,Stocks,Crypto etc. No one in my life pay much attention to it, even though it has made me a lot of money (& has lost me money also). People I know are more into watching Netflix shows than paying attention to the financial markets, most people find it boring.

Do you guys have any hobbies like this? Things you are super into but most people around you don't give a damn?
All of mine are like that, thanks for asking.

If by soft you mean I'm not wasting my time being some Dunning-Kruger wannabe investment bro and am actually investing instead of gambling which makes more money long term.

Then yes. I am soft. Sorry for understanding risk adjusted returns and having money.

If being a degenerate gambler will make you think more of me my fuck around crypto money does pretty well.

My DYOR is a waste of time portfolio... It does alright. Gotta admit trying to catch the knife on 100+ coins is a chore though.

Anything. fuckin christ man.. People these days are lobotomized

So what do you like to do in your free time?

"I just like to chill."

What kind of music do you like?

"I like my spotify playlists"

I'm just amazed at how many people do not have any hobbies at all.
Its unreal man. People really live to work. But more then that.. Some of em never even had the thought for a split second that there might be more to life then just carrying out tasks and pumping out kids
