Interesting fight. Winnable fight for Max. How's his wrestling though?

We haven't seen much of It throughout his career.

maybe one of you guys has more info than I do.

Generally speaking though, Max seems like the kind of guy you can't count out of any fight.

Would be funny if he managed to beat Khabib and then Max / Conor rematched In a champ vs champ match.
Only when Conor took him down 2 times and passed his guard ....Yes Conor

So why can't the HEALTHY Champ step up and fight Khabib?

Some bullshit about not enough time to make weight, or need time to promote, and it would lose the UFC money. Take your pick of the Conor fuck boy excuses.

One punch power is actually worse in a situation where you're fighting someone exhausting like Khabib. That explosive energy gets sapped real fast, and once it's gone there's no chance.
Precisely why Conor has ONE round to try and KO Khabib....Haha.
Why won't the healthy Champ defend now?

2 weeks ago Max was eating poke and surfing. He just got cleared to train. This is a horrible idea and I think he's going to get embarrassed. I'm mad at UFC for letting him do this. You have to protect fighters from themselves.

Max is a beat striking wise but his wrestling hasnt been tested by anyone on this level of Khabib. It's a very interesting matchup. Definitely more interesting than Max vs. Ortega. If he loses to Khabib it makes the Ortega fight that much more interesting.

You're pretty naive and clearly have very little understanding of weight.

I bet you think Tony injured his knee because he's 200lbs (3 pounds heavier than roll off the couch no trainy Anderson Silva vs DC).
I'm really not sure how you got any of this from what I said In this thread.

Jeezus man....You don't even realize who you are speaking to....
You know nothing compared to him..

He trains and can literally end your life with one punch.
Lol. He's a loser who thinks Tony is bigger than Anderson Silva when they're both out of camp. His threads are all garbage.

Ah, I remember you now.

I see your other account got banned.

not surprising.

Lol @ winnable fight. This shit is gonna look like a father spanking his child for skipping school. Khabib is gonna ragdoll Max and finish him inside of 3 rounds.

It's not bad, he had some good takedowns against Pettis, but I don't think he can defend against Khabib

He needs to make the most of the time he has on the feet
His footwork and hands are probably the key to keeping it on the feet, not really his wrestling defense. If Khabib gets a hold of him he's going to lose the wrestling exchange 99/100 so he's gotta crack Khabib coming in.

Personally I understand having Max as an underdog but Khabib gets sloppy coming in and Max had great hands, I really think he can shock the world here. I would prefer if Khabib beats the piss out of him though.

entirely possible. Max Is legit though, I definitely wouldn't sleep on him.

but yeah, Khabib should be a good sized favourite.

Because in the one month I've been here you've been crowing about being an expert in weight management but think a scrappy featherweight can beat the biggest undefeated wrestler at 155. in short you're an idiot.
Haha, that thread was literally from a year ago dude.

You argued with me about how It's not possible that Tony could walk around near 200 pounds outside of camp.

I tried to explain to you that walk around weight Is different from fight camp weight and different from the actual cut Itself. I drew parallels with Nate and Nick Diaz who have a very similar frame and are also known to walk around similarly heavy outside of camp to show that It's far from Impossible.

but you weren't willing to acknowledge even the slightest possibility that Tony could walk around that heavy outside of camp, with his 6 foot frame with 76 inch reach.

This was even before he'd posted a video on Instagram of him weighing 200 pounds mind you..

Kinda sad to see that you're here arguing over the same bullshit..1 year later..with a new account.

get a life

Exactly, and who the fuck has Conor shut off completely aside from Aldo in 2015? If he were to drop Khabib he sure as fuck better not follow him to the ground because when Khabib grabs a leg, he will recover and steam roll Conor. And I doubt he drops Khabib anyways. If he did, Khabib wouldn't go out and would recover. And once Conor is gassed he's fucked. For a guy with such shit cardio being stuck in 5 round fights exclusively, Conor is extremely beatable by the bigger Lightweights. He won't be able to land that trademark left uppercut like he's used to landing on midgets. And no way does Khabib approach that fight stupid like Alvarez did.

I like Max and think he's gonna be a long reigning champ at 145 because his body is suited for that weight class and he's head and shoulders better than the other FW's. But truth is, he has nothing to lose in this fight and everything to gain so it was easy for him to step up. It's also another nice payday. He's saving the card to a certain degree. But he's definitely getting his ass whooped this Saturday.

Max got literally Son'd in grappling by a one legged Conor.

So.....

Definitely possible. I expect Khabib to win. I was just more so not counting Max out

Max is way too small. Yes he's a big FW. But no way on earth can Tony or Khabib ever make FW without cutting a leg off. They are huge LW like Max is a huge FW. I shouldn't have to bring up Max was out wrestled by Conor of all people. He's there for million dollars pay day IMO. Huge max fan too.

I’m not saying it would be better if he had it, I’m saying it’s not a factor in this fight and that Max is a pace guy who drowns his opponents. Probably a better shot at beating Khabib with his style then an explosive style that runs out of gas quickly. But, it doesn’t feel like something that can be thrown together without a camp and coming off an injury that would presumably impact conditioning.
