These improvements are mostly aimed at business users, particularly those whose fields are increasingly demanding of AI tasks, and higher internet bandwidth consumption, not gamers. But, as Ars Technica points out, with the ability to add 2 efficiency cores per power core (instead of 4), the new Intels should bring down the price floor of the cheapest viable gaming laptops since 2p+4e and especially 4p+8e configurations will be possible.
