Unfortunate we weren’t big on pictures. I’ve seen some and they’re cool but there’s not many.

I remember when I was a kid, there was an old black and white picture of my dad which I thought was weird. Turns out it was his grandfather, not him. They looked identical.

We pass our history down orally,

Don’t have this problem or pictures.

SAD

That's neat. I had plastic surgery to correct them when I was 8 but a green grocer knew whose daughter I was in my push chair because he had the same sticky outy ears.

Looking back at all these photos, I look nothing like my parents/grandparents at all.

I have a old photo of my moms dad but we never saw my dads dad, he didn´t either besides when he was a baby. He 100% looks like my dad my brother and my cousin, I bet he is slander with black hair and probably a longer nose. I look a lot like my moms side. My moms dad looked like me, I can´t see his face clearly on the black white foto but his body is like mine and storys about him are similar to my character. My parents are just super old and Im sort of the young kid from a old generation. Fotos weren´t that common in the early 90ies. My greater grandma might been alive when south east Europe was uner the ottoman empire. My grandma literaly died 99/100 old and that was 20 years ago.

I knew my mum and grandma so maybe the way we were brought up but I inherited my pigheadedness and vindictive nature from both of them. They were lovely, kind and gentle women until they were crossed then God help you. A lot of paperwork my step dad sent me were receipts of donations to the church and a local hospice.

I don't know how to turn them around. @Contempt

Nice, cool looking oldschool car.

...dog claws on paint though
Oh for goodness sake aha, my family treat pets as family. I've always been the same. My pet rabbit decimated my wallpaper when we got him home. No fucks given.

I look like my mom I’ve been told but I have the same build as most of the men on my dad’s side. I’m 6’2 but only have 30 inch legs lol. I’m all body, short leg. My dad was 6’6 and had short legs (for his relative height) too as do a couple of my uncles. Some of my friends make fun of me for this.

Most of what I inherited was either motorized or some kind of firearm. I’m not complaining because my dad had some beautiful guns but I wish he took more pictures and I wish we had more of a family history. I met with my aunt after he died and she filled me in on some stuff I didn’t know and showed me some old pictures but there isn’t a ton.

I’m still driving his 02 ford f350 most days for work. It feels a lot more “him” than the new lux halfton he bought for my mom. I remember when I was a kid and he bought it new because it was a stick shift. I learned to drive standard in that truck. I also remember my parents travelling 10-12 hours one way to watch me play hockey and that’s what they drove lol…

Hey, I love my vicious beasts... but I also love my car and couldn't ever imagine wanting to pose with one of them on top of it.

You were their perfect son driving all that way, how very lovely. And how very proud parents they were.
I want to get in your Ford for a road trip, it's wicked it's still on the road.

I thought I was the only 6'2 guy with a 30 inch inseam! Thank god there are others.
Also realize how lucky I was that my parents drove for hockey. Didn't appreciate it enough until the last couple of years when my boys started playing.

I inherited a lot of material things when my father passed - he had built a mini real estate empire.

However, the things I value the most are copies of books that he had written, including the original copy of his PhD thesis. I keep. I keep them in my office to remind me a) of what an accomplished man he was, and b) that I need to carry on his legacy.

I always thought it was just me too. My dad always said it makes the middle leg look longer. He was 6’6 and I saw a pair of his old jeans were a 34 leg.

I played junior hockey in Quebec, far from my home in Nova Scotia lol. My parents would come to a lot of our road games and even some home ones. Meant a lot. A lot of the 440,000 kilometres on that old Ford probably come from that. I like rolling into our work sites with that thing. I’ll do whatever to keep it around, I had the whole body off 2 years ago.
