Most inflation was due to supply shocks, and Trump's policies are more likely to cause inflation than arrest it.

Inflation just refers to a rate of increase in prices. The rate of increase has been decreasing since the end of COVID and during Biden's term. Prices never go down though. We would need deflation for prices as a whole to go down and that would take economic catastrophe. Shit will be expensive regardless of the rate of inflation.
