Wait what ..... you think Trump is some kind of stone cold killer in debates ?

Hes ok but nothing spectacular and he's only been ok because he's gotten away with giving so few details out about what he would actually do .

I think he has a unique ability to make people look like idiots...especially politicians

Hardly. Trumps ability is to get idiots to like him. Now granted not everyone that supports him is an idiot. Many of his supporters understand that much of what he says is bombast to sway other to support him.

That wasn't the question tho

They'd all make him look like a dumbass. Well, he'd make himself look like a dumbass. I mean, it's not so much that he's subnormal in intelligence, and I'm sure there are particular issues he'd sound really smart talking about (unrelated to public policy). But in anything that would come up in a presidential debate, he's completely uninformed (not even informed well enough to fake it, like Bush was) and less intelligent than anyone who has made it as far as he has in a long time (since Reagan, probably, but Reagan did have relevant experience and some idea of what he was talking about).

Maybe a better question is who has Trump made to look like a dumbass and what do you think he did to accomplish that in your estimation

Well idiot us kind of a blanket term. But more specifically he made Jeb & Rubio look extremely weak, Cruz extremely dishonest, and Hillary crooked.

You give any of those other candidates to Trump in 2016 he does the same to them.

How he does against Hillary remains to be seen , did he make Jeb and Rubio look weak or were they just weak ? (i lived in Florida when Jeb was governor , found him meh then) and Cruz well , Cruz is very distasteful to most people all on his own , i actually think Romney would have prevailed this time out .

trump and clinton win in fairly narrow amounts.

The question is why would Carly allow herself to be a part of such a sinking ship? Is there an angle here for her that I'm missing?

Why would you run for senate, lose, and then run for president? To get in the cabinet I'm assuming. She isn't expecting Trump to get her here so Cruz is the only viable option. She's been campaigning with him for sometime now so it's not like he called her up out of the blue to do this. She latched on the the best shot candidate that would take her and it worked. Problem is, he likely won't get the nomination

Name one presidential candidate....who has ran in the last 24 yrs...whom you think wouldn't be made to look like a dumbass by Trump.

Are you saying this implying he made anyone in 2016 look like a dumbass? Cause by shouting down Jeb may have made him look weak but I wouldn't say a dumbass. In fact, he's had to shout down everyone on stage because he didn't have material to have a substantive back and forth with any candidate. The problem was that a majority of that party couldn't distinguish knowing what you're talking about from name calling.

Also, every president beats Trump out. Maybe he could tussle with Reagan, but that would be it. Do you think a CIA director could be a dumbass?

And she killed her ctedibilty with republican voters in the process.

I guess I duct see why a person would trade in their credibility to join a person you had to know isn't going to win.

That's interesting that you guys keep sating Trump gets beat by everyone when has literally beat everyone in about 8 debates.

He hasn't beat anyone in a debate yet, hell he has not been in a debate. He has beat them in name calling and dick measuring contests.

You never did return to that one thread to explain how Cruz picking Fiorinni (sp) as his "VP" was a "game changer" (your words). Given that Cruz cannot win on the first ballot and a second ballot is increasingly unlikely, how was that little stunt not transparently desperate?

You're right, I didn't.

Probably because I had seven quotes of that post, mostly mocking in tone, that went against the grain of what the MSM is shoving down the public's throat.

By the way, I said she 'could' be a gamechanger. Thay depends on tonight.

Like, the two most used words in the poltical news coverage is 'desperate' and 'collusion' right after Trump started using them alot in terms of the narriative.

The media has an interest in getting Trump nominated. One, because he's huge ratings. Two because he's a guaranteed loser in November. So of course every comment and political move Cruz has made in the last three weeks has been a horrible one. 'Fiorina is a desperate move,' and 'Getting the governor of Indiana on board was absolutely needed.' The media is forming the narriative that Cruz is a loser, because they want him to be.

As for the 'Cruz cannot win the 1st ballot.' Yeah, and now the strategy is making sure Trump can't either. Five Presidents, who were once candidates, had fewer delegates than the frontrunner, and five times they were nominated.

'Well, that's against Democracy! Trump has the most votes!' Reality Check - We're a Republic. The Constitution and Declaration of Independence make no reference to Democracy.

Final thoughts - If Trump wins tonight, it's over, he's the nominee. I'll say it. But it's amazing how much the media is asking Cruz this repeatedly, as well as if he'd support Trump as the nominee. Then they criticize him for avoiding answering the question.

They know the tricks they're pulling on the public. It's quite condescending. But we'll find out tonight if it's worked.

Yeah, he beat everyone in eight of the eleven debates.

Yet he's been running from a 1v1 debate with Cruz.

You're not missing anything- it's just identity politics used as a hail mary. Private polls weren't going Cruz's way, so he played the Palin gambit. It wasn't even a stupid move- there wasn't a good move available. Carly has nothing to lose in politics so jumping on a sinking ship is not a problem for her. If anything it shows some loyalty.

He hasn't beat anyone in a debate yet, hell he has not been in a debate. He has beat them in name calling and dick measuring contests.

He's won every single debate. And unless you can articulate a better, more objective way to measure the winner of a debate other than polling then you must concede...he's undefeated after about 8 debates with 17 well seasoned candidates.

For one, they were debates in name only. Second, polling is the worst way to declare a winner in a debate. If that is how you judge they are nothing more then popularity contests.

As for predictions - Bernie wins 51-49, Trump wins 46-42-12. GOP race will be a lot closer than recent polling is showing, Cruz will use the narrow loss compared to recent polling to show that his message is connecting and it's onward to Washington, Oregon and Cali (with Nebraska, WV, SD and Montana mixed in still)

So how would you suggest we judge them?
