Also, LOL at thinking that the country which spends +$600 billion on military, not to mention $100 billion or so on the "department of homeland security' would NOT be able to secure a 1954 mile border. And that somehow the U.S. is incapable of using force to secure the border.
This is what you offered as far as addressing the problem...
Address the immigration system? In what way?
Address the drug market which causes so much violence in the countries people are fleeing from? So we have to wage an international war on drugs and somehow prevent drug trafficking across international borders that we, in your opinion, have no ability to secure?
These aren't serious suggestions which is all the do nothing team ever offers.
Tell us, SOA, why do you hate Mexicans?

I don't and if you look at my posting history you might say or infer that I am Mexican or of 'Mexican descent' whatever that means.
In any case I do not hate Mexicans and don't see how wanting to enforce a border is somehow equivalent to hate. In fact id argue that anyone against securing the border is a person who hates Mexicans and a racist who wants Hispanic immigrants to be used as slave labor, and who wants to prevent them from getting legal or working status in this country so they can continue being exploited. Furthermore, anyone against securing the border is likely aphile and or supporter of sex trafficking and of the drug trade.
In fact the truly progressive thinking would be to secure the border and help stem the flow of sex trafficked women/children across it and stop the flow of drugs. And lastly we already have 700 miles of fencing, and NOT all of the 1,950 mile border needs to be fenced off. In any case constructing another 400 miles of fencing would take us to 56.41% completion of a sealed off border.
In fact constructing another 400 miles of fencing is relatively easy and we could construct another 600 miles in key areas and that would take us to 66.67% completion of the border fence.
We address the immigration system by making it easier and cheaper for those who simply want to work to support there families to come here.
As for the drug war we don't have to fight a war. It will sound radical, but if we make drugs legal and cheaper then the illegal one we take the money out of the illegal trade and kill it.
And if you're in need of some victory music:
So in order to prevent trespassing we just have to allow everyone in quicker?
Only one addresses the under lying problem, the other get you more tunnels.I totally disagree with this approach but I respect your willingness to go there. What I don't understand is how you are completely comfortable going full Ron Paul on the drug issue but then laugh at those who tout building a wall to fight immigration. It's kind of like the pot calling the kettle radical, ya know?
