I said HMC, because that is the last time he used his grappling efficiently. Yeah, I know he choked out Tim Sylvia, but it was him throwing bombs that led to that.

HMC, or even as far back as Mirko. Sounds crazy, as it was 2005, but at that point he had already been fighting MMA for 5 years and had many Judo and Sambo matches(championships) on his record. After Arlovski he fell off hard though, but he was declining way before that.

Biggest thing, Fedor used to be a grappler. He used to be a judoka/sambo guy with amazing transitions and fast hands.

Even tho it was 5 years lets not forget he had 26 fights in 5 years lol. HWs these days would be retired at most half way by the time they tried fighting a similar schedule.

Fedor went from the GOAT judo-sambo/boxer type to a meh Dutch kickboxer who sometimes doesnt kick when the openings are there.

You make too many threads.
arlovski fight

True. It's amazing how many fights he had in that time.

Glad the majority realizes it's the Sylvia fight. The Arlovski fight is the first where he showed weakness, even though he won. It was all downhill from there.

He started declining somewhere around Tim Sylvia.

must be a pretty important poll for you since you created 3 threads with the same title

He said he started having injury issues after the Sylvia fight and that he never felt the same after that

I voted Arlovski fight, though it's most likely in between Arlovski and Sylvia.

I guess i was looking at it as that was the last time Fedor was able to catch a world class dude when they overstepped

Rogers was defs top 10, but not nearly as elite as Arlovski was

He totally crushed Sylvia like a bum, but i realized how he fought less and less from 2005 to the following years, maybe he already lost a step back then. He has gone from ~5 fights per year to 2

I'd say Rodgers was the first time he showed any vulnerability. If anything it looked like he was mentally shot and wasn't as hungry as before. Plus he had let his physique go and looked like a fat brawler from Cage Rage.

Fedor fell from grace following the Werdum loss, then b2b losses to TRT Bigfoot and Hendo. While he was the #1 HW in the world before fighting Werdum, many believe he was already showing signs of decline as evidenced from the Rogers fight and even in 08 with his wild swinging approach around 07/08, abandoning technical aspects/strategy from when he dominated the world as the P4P #1. Which fight do u believe was the last of the Emperor's prime?

watch the arlovski fight bruh

I'd honestly say it was the Lindland fight. Didn't look quite the same there.

He was getting merked then got the KO... to say the rodgers fight was the first sign of vulnerability is a bit strange

26 fights and hundreds of Sambo matches cause he won all the tournaments. What would the heavyweight division be 4 fights-8 fights? like 15-30 events he won. 4x10=40 so at the minimum 40 Combat Sambo matches in 2005. What MMA fighter not transitioning from Kickboxing or Judo has a record like that?

I think Sylvia, although it's such a hard question to answer.
