Cain was still kind of raw with only 9 fights under the belt. He had problems with Kongo's striking just a few fights ago. And his knee was injured. In the later fights he used wrestling a lot more and was way more mobile.

Aldo is one of the most experienced MMA fighters and fought to his strength (striking).

Aldo main strength is his total balance as a MMA fighter.

He is a grappler turned striker not the other way around.

Had Aldo never fought Edgar, I KNOW for SURE that this would be under debate. Aldo has a tough fight with Mendes, then loses to Conor. Had he retired, Sherdog would do its usual shtick of discrediting one of Conor's wins.

They do it with ALL of Conor's wins.

Holloway? Oh, fight wasn't legit, Max has grown and Holloway had a broken foot.
Mendes? Short Camp.
Dustin? Illegal shot
Aldo? Fluke. (The second excuse)
Nate? Totally legit. Nate 2? Robbery.


But one fact for SURE, is that after seeing Aldo dominate Edgar you must accept that Conor McGregor KO'd Prime Aldo in 13 seconds.

This isn't Weidman destroying Prime Silva (Silva noticeably has dipped)
Or Fedor being dropped.
This is a clean KO of a prime former #1 P4P fighter.

Ok i understand yours and others opinion of conor not putting his title on the line. But i dont think he gives a fuck about courtesy and he shouldnt. This is not about what is right, who is owed what etc. He looks after himself first and foremost he aint the ufc's bitch (to a degree). He will defend the lightweight belt just be patient.
