I've visited and travelled in India twice and I liked it there very much. All the vibrant colours, flavours and smells, so many incredible sights to see, lots of delicious food and overall a fascinating culture to experience. On the downside the country is massively overpopulated and pollution is a big problem. The roads especially in the towns and cities are absolutely chaotic. Every time I got on a bus I felt like I was playing Russian roullette. Fuck I actually learned how to ride a motorbike over there and it was insane. The interesting thing is I witnessed so much dangerous driving over there and so many near misses but never once saw any road rage. The drivers don't lose it like they do here in the west and seem to accept the chaos and go with it rather than fight against it.

The poverty and suffering is very visible there and quite disturbing. I saw a lot of severely disabled children begging and woman lying there with children in their arms who looked like they were literally dying before my eyes. The multitude of stray dogs there also really rustled me big time. Some of them are in a terrible state with horrible injuries and I would often sit and feed them but many Indian people would walk past and stare at me like I was a total nut.

Didn't really get the opportunity to interact on a personal level with many Indians tbh but generally speaking they are about as ill mannered and lacking in spacial awareness as your average Brit. Some are cool and some not so cool, so not much different there really but the guys in souvenir shops are really pushy and a major pain in the tits. I liked the people in the North of India more, mainly the Nepali ones around Manali and the Tibetan refugees in Dharamsala are really chilled and much more affable in my experience.

Such a huge country and I only had time to see so little of it, I hope to get back over there some day.

Here's an example, when India n Pakistan meet in sports, the whole country shuts down.
The streets are deserted in the day. In India. With a billion point three people.
That's fkn incredible. Imagine New York as a ghost town. Now spread it to a national level.

On the border, both armies constantly take pot shots at each other....with artillery.
Terrorist incursions from the pak side are common and continuous. Most get caught or shot to shit.

Me, I've met a number of them. Individually they're fine. Mostly decent ppl. As a society and as a culture they're beyond fked. Their politicians and decision makers share the number one blame.

The girls are poke worthy.

Over here, you have to understand how pervasive cash transaction are. Ppl buy jewelry for 100k $ in cash. Watches, appliances, cars. Nobody blinks an eye.
It's considered normal for ppl to keep half their life savings in cash at home. Even middle / lower middle class keep about 5-10k $ at home.
That's fkn insane.
They get robbed or something and poof.....you just dropped a class.
Insurance is in its infancy here.

The new government is trying hard to curb that. Less cash. Not cash free like Sweden or whathaveyou from the EU.
Still decades away from that.

Haven't tried but my lebanese colleague took one for the team. Told me that it took him 3 days of constant showering and violent scrubbing before he can get the...aroma off.

Probably an isolated incident. They dont stink. Right?
