I'm Gonna Be a Prison Guard

I do. Honestly, I actually used to think that the people calling certain celebrities trannies was just dumb. I've recently begun to realize it's all real. For instance, we all know (or at least thought) that Serena Williams is a man. People have thought this or hinted at this for YEARS. Watch from 9:17 of this video onward. The portion of the video explains how Lana Del Rey got her incredible voice. It's a fact that castrated males who missed puberty have incredible vocal range because of the castration allows their vocal cords to develop in a unique way.

They are called castratos and used to be very common in Napoleonic Europe

I know three prison guards. They all struggle with the culture and politics. It's a job that is very hard on your mental state. I will tell you now, you are not going to get trained well enough, or receive the compensation that you should get with that type of work. I would rather remove asbestos for a living, as I value my health lol.

Don't get sucked into the culture of your job and use whatever health plan your job has right from the get go, particularly focus on mental health. From my experience of working security of various types and having an inordinate amount of exposure to law enforcement, I highly recommend always maintaining a high level of professional conduct and never engage in degrading and dehumanizing anyone as a means of control no matter the justification. The most effective way to govern in those positions is to enable others to govern themselves by demonstrating civility, firmness and fairness. You can be personable without taking things personal. Always exemplify the highest code of conduct even when everyone else is doing otherwise, as you will ultimately have the moral high ground that can even surpass your superiors. You need everyone to know you are strait, fair and a man of your word. In every situation you will need to use discretion and adapt your message as required, but ultimately the potential outcomes for non compliance are made clear, and that you mean business. One of the worst things I have seen security and law enforcement professionals do over the decades, is to forget the power of appealing to one's mind, or person as a means to govern, and to let them walk away on their own terms with their ego's intact. Now that's power. As soon as there is a fixation on power over others, you are locked into a pattern with predictable outcomes, that the inmate will feel obliged to engage in for the sake of their own sense of self value and identity.

Just be like @Lethal bro
How insane is it that you have to signal to your coworkers, in law enforcement no less, that you aren't a corrupt piece of shit? Is corruption really that pervasive throughout the prison industry? I knew it was there to an extent.

Also, maybe we should be requiring a little more education out of those we put in charge of guarding prisoners, and compensate them better to attract candidates with higher educations. I know the job wears people down. But I can't help but think it grinds down faster those who go into it with nothing but a high school education.

Low pay, shit work conditions, crap hours and staff shortages rape moral. Most of it is people not giving a shit and not doing their job. A lot of COs only enforce rules or look for shit when they are told to because of burn out. Do your 8 and go home is the mantra. I had inmates and COs get annoyed with me for stripping inmates before and after trips out of the institution because many where too lazy to do it.

Saw some fucked up shit on med trips lol.

Fuck that. Most COs have 2 divorces under their belt and die by 58.
lol. Is it really that stressful? More so that being a regular cop on the road? I'm in LE right now and have a decent job. Doesn't pay enough though.

sounds intense AF, TS. UK prison, for instance are a joke and prisoners are running a mock.

Stay strong.

Everything about that job is soul crushing. I would rather be in Iraq again. Plus the pay is garbage. So glad I left that job.

Yes, so are star athletes like Venus and Serena Williams. I can direct you to a youtube channel that focuses on this subject and can really shed light on the issue.
what about cara delvinge or w.e. her name is, she also looks like a dude kinda

I guess that's what we get for allowing the prison system to be privatized.

Damn. What do you do now if you don't mind saying.

I worked in a state run facility. It doesn't matter if it is public or private it is a shit hole. Privates are worse though

Interesting that none of our resident law enforcement people here "liked" or commented on this post.

Solid post. Retro like.

My brother was a C.O. for around 18 years before he had to retire due to back issues. The inmates WILL know everything about you within 7 days of your arrival. Be fair but firm, that's how you earn respect.

Much respect to you. You have balls. I've always thought that whatever the pay prisons guards get, it should probably be a lot more. Good luck!

what, like where I live or some shit?
Or like my blood type and social security number?
Should I buy a shotgun and keep it under my bed?

Car you drive. Schedule. If you share personal information with staff the inmates will know. Remove all nfo from social media that can ID you, they will find it. Nothing like buying a new truck and having an inmate ask it a week later.

This is a 100% true story. My older brother told me this straight from his mouth.

Our mother had passed quite a few years back and my brother got the word when he was on duty at the prison. He got a message to report to the warden (not over the PA, a guard told him as he took his spot). His supervisor and the Warden gave him the bad news. The warden said, take all the time you need to take care of things and just let us know if you need anything.

This meeting was all of 30 minutes. He was walking out of the prison and an inmate was sweeping up. The inmate stopped and said "Officer, S. We all are sorry about you losing your Mama. We're praying for Ya'll".

This is not a small facility, we're talking MAX security.

Word spread THAT quickly through the prison about our mother's passing.
