Illia is terrible champion

I don't know, she seems like a nice girl. And Ilia is an asshole. Why she would cheat? She just gave a birth to a child not long ago. Isn't she have more important things to do? Like looking for a child, lol.
Thats exactly the point, she had to wait till they got a child. Now she gets child allowance and doesnt need Ilia anymore. Apparently it has been going on for a longer time, she was prob just waiting to get a child before she could dump him. Happens to like 90% of rich football players too…

Apparently she comes from a rich family, don’t think she baby trapped him. More likely situation is that ilia is a self-obsessed narcissist and they fell out over that. Having a child is pretty traumatic to women, their bodies change, their hormones are all over the place, for a while they’re not as attractive as they were pre-pregnancy. Does ilia strike you as the patient and supportive husband type who’d be willing to re-prioritize his life to accommodate his wife through those rough spots? Hell no, he’s an a-hole lol.

Well Ilia didn't wrap her in a blanked to be trapped for life inside a house, and he wouldn't abuse her if she did something he didn't like or kill her for leaving him.

You're sure of that? He's fought once or twice per year for his entire career, and even before he got to the UFC he only had 8 fight in 5 years.
Fighting 2x a year is pretty much the UFC average. It's why we celebrate Merab, pantoja, Pereira.

So yeah a custody battle is stupid to pretend isn't a real thing.

I'm just surprised the UFC won't strip him.
UFC'S lost it's balls i can respect Topuria needing time off to sort out his divorce shit. But there's no reason not to make an undisputed title fight and give him a free pass vs the new champion when he's ready. Treating personal issues as an injury is bush league. Also why is KKF pulled from the rankings to take time off, when earlier this year Jamal Hill said the same thing about taking a year off and is still ranked. No balls and no consistency.

Now once we have an interim champion they will also say I'm not going to defend until I get the undisputed fight.

Great fighter… one of the best ever.

But man he is a shit champion. Barely ever fights. Dodges many of the legitimate contenders. A total diva in Twitter.

Like why the fuck are we getting an interim title fight.

Exciting guy. Awesome skills but can’t wait for him to lose the belt
@Dreyga Hates You Sherbums Worst poster of the years.

Might be the average for champs, and he's at less than that for his entire career, and even worse as a champ. By the time of his next fight, he will have 17 fights in 11 years as a pro, and 3 fights in 3 years since his last non title fight. Jones was the only champ I can think of who was less active, and even Jones was incredibly active before becoming champ and his first 2 years as champ. Topuria was inactive as a contender, and is the most inactive champ on the roster.

In 5 years With the UFC Ilia's had 9 fights.
In 5 years with the UFC Khamzat had 9 fights. And 3 of these were in his first month so in 4 years and 11months that's 6 fights.
In 10 years with the UFC Islam had 18 fights.
In 8 years with the UFC Khabib had 13 fights.
In 11 years Leon fought 20 times.

But sure it's only Topuria and Jones you can think of.

Lol, so he's less active than guy's who've had long injury layoffs and travel restrictions?

I think my Sherdawg peeps(myself included) need to stop being so emotionally invested in things they have no control over.

The issue here isn't that he is using his divorce as an excuse to not fight.

It is that he is not relinquishing his belt while having no timetable to return. How long does he get to stay champion and not defend due to personal matters?

Ilia fought like four months ago.

When was Izzy’s last fight?

He definitely needs to fight more. I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he doesn’t fight till the vote house card which would make it a year in between fights as a champion. (Possibly even fighting Islam at a different weight class at that card too.

This would never be acceptable under Zuffa/Fertitta ownership.

Remember when GSP said he needed take a break to visit his sister in hospital? The UFC was like "Nope!! Don't give us that buuuuuuuulllllsssssshhhiiit" and he was stripped immediately.
I mean this was big name GSP here whom was already an established defending champion with star power.

And the there was Noah Inhofer from TUF 3 that had to leave the show because of a note about his fiance cheating on him.
This guy got roasted by Dana and practically everyone else in the MMA world, including Sherdog.

Why the fuck does Topper get a free pass?
He's either gaming the system or the UFC is baby feeding him like a toddler.
Why does he always have problems or excuses for defending the title?

People always talk about legacy, but what legacy does Topper have?
People make fun of McGregor for talking a big game and then losing, but he never backed down from a fight and made excuses.
Topper barely fights and wants cherry picked opponents to secure his "perfect UFC legacy".

A champion that backs down from top challengers has no legacy and is a total fraud.

Topuria stepping away for a time givies division opportunity to breath. If he is back and fully active, it is just Topuria and a bunch of contenders he TKO'd

The issue with Ilia is he comes from money therefore likely marches to the beat of his own drum as he doesn't need to fight for scraps. I think if he's told to give up the 155 belt for a 170 shot, he'll just do it.

I think he had a great 145 run with great wins and at least actually defended the 145 belt which is something.
