I'll have to give it to the "King of the Hill" remake

I finished it Sunday. Yeah, it's near perfect.
They managed to navigate the aged up characters concept alongside pointing out some of the modern absurdities without ever coming across as cynical or preachy.

The characters are consistent throughout, but with welcome changes like Hank falling in love with Soccer but not wanting to tell his friends.

And the episode where Hank takes his now teenage half brother G.H. (good hank) to the Man Camp was both hilarious and heartwarming.

Lots of things to like

I was pleasantly surprised. My only complaint is Khan's new voice actor. Just doesn't sound right. I think they recast Joseph's VA, and he sounds just fine, but Khan doesn't sound like Khan at all.

On a related note, I REALLY hope they don't recast Dale, Luanne, or John Redcorn. There's really no replacement for any of them.

It's the best remake of anything out there. The episodes are just like if they happened in between the years of the original runs. I can't think of any remakes out there that have done the same.
I agree 100%. I just finished the first season and really enjoyed it. @Crazy Source

They already recast dale. Apparently the original voice actor was only in the first six episodes. It didn't sound like much of a transition. They gave Khan a legit accent and I agree its not the same but im ok with it..

guess I don’t have to watch it anymore..

I was incredibly impressed.

Going into it my apprehension levels were at max because of such a HUGE fan I am of the original run, but man oh man what a great job they did.

I will say that the new style of animation was kind of off putting at first, it looked like an Archer episode, but I got used to it.

Plus Dale’s voice changed a lot since the first run, even when Johnny Hardwick was the actor, but again I got used to it.

The guy who was the original voice of Khan (Toby Huss) is now the voice of Dale.

Very good haanji 👍🏾

At first I was little bit scared but now feeling this is natural progression of storyline ji. Honestly buddy they have me hooked in first few minutes of showing haanji 📺 really I come with prejudice but happily proving wrong

Only small complain, voice of Dale first time was making my ear little upset ji 🤏🏾🏳️‍🌈 but by Bush museum episode finally I warm up and accept as part of journey ji 🥛

May Waheguru bless Jubya with many long years haanji 🇺🇸

Posted this in the other King Of The Hill thread so I'll copy and paste here also

Watched the first episode last night, liked it a lot more than I expected I would, even though I did not care for a lot of the changes and updates like the new animation style, Dale's weird ass voice and Hank's confusion over certain things, they dont have electric cars in Saudi Arabia?

And, I assume it will be explained more as the season goes on, but I'm still having a hard time believing Hank would even go to Saudi Arabia!

All that being said, I still really enjoyed it over all

I like how Bobby is starting to show a little bit of Hank's structured and serious personality in himself as he gets older, while still maintaining that Bobby free spirit in his life and career choices

As for Dale's voice, which is so off putting, I just pretend he has dentures now so thats why he sounds so different, makes it acceptable to my brain LoL

At the end of the episode, I actually got a warm and fuzzy feeling like it was nice to revisit some old friends that I aint seen in awhile

Look forward to continuing the reunion with the next episode
