Dude Ilia's stock has gone down so much already since Islam demolished Jack ( a guy Ilia said would beat Islam) that the hype around Islam vs Ilia is not what it was. The psycho Ilia fans who think they can protect "their guy" are now scared he will get beaten at 170 and don't want him to do the fight and many others don't see it as being as competitive as an Islam vs Prates or Islam vs Morales match.

He is a great fighter so making a run at LW makes perfect sense and keeps the UFC's integrity at 1%. If they let him move up and fight for another title next, UFC's integrity drops to 0 and that's when I am out. (Not that it matters)

I really want the UFC to put an end to champions changing weights without putting in years of time and at MINIMUM 5 defenses at the top of the division. Although at this point I don't know if I even want that. Double champ status is becoming as cheap as instant rematches and I no longer support those without genuinely controversial decisions or a NC or something.

By how frequently it's happened in recent years it appears winning a second title is easier than defending.

I do not understand this kind of thinking whatsoever. What I see is a naturally smaller guy wanting to move up in weight and fight the best of that division, and I think what a fucking warrior! Isn't that what we want to see? Who gives a fuck about titles? This is about fighting, and if a smaller dominant guy wants to fight bigger guys, that's amazing. That's the shit we want to see. That's the whole spirit of this sport that we're watching.
