"Ilia is definitely the hardest hitter"

I think plenty of guys could potentially hit harder if they threw everything into their punches like Emmett, but that’s kind of irrelevant if you can’t consistently land cleanly like Ilia does. Ilia knocking out Max confirmed that he’s the hardest hitter in the division.

RIP Paddy. You did ok sweet prince.

No USADA for Tyson.

He's so old now...it's more a question of can he actually land the bomb vs whether it will destroy people. I think Emmett would wreck any 155'er he hit clean, but his other skills are deteriorating so the likelihood of more highlight reel KO's shrinks as time goes by.

He’s too transparent now. Always hunting for the bomb. He should just stiffen lower ranked guys on the undercard and soak up the win bonuses.

Illia obviously hits really hard & I'm glad Charles accepts that he fought like a moron, but his performance against an old Chandler with a 2 year lay off aged so poorly that a blind person couldve guessed that Illia will KO Charles.

Peak Chandler gasses in 1 Rd and Charles went 5 rds with a 38 year old Chandler who hadn't fought in 800 days & got rocked by him in the 5 th Rd.

I hope Charles retires because he has nothing else to proof, he has had a great career

I think Emmett hits harder...but Ilia literally does everything else eons better than Josh ever did.

Plus, there comes a point where it doesn't really matter. If every time you land clean, you put the other guy away it doesn't matter if you're the "hardest puncher". You just have to hit hard enough where when you land, the fight is over. Clearly Ilia hits that hard.
Agree. A lot of guys are probably stronger, but Ilia has such perfect form and technique when he's punching, he can really generate more knockout power.

Isn't the commision or the UFC wrapping hands? To prevent stuff that happens in boxing, like with Margarito.
Margartio was putting a hardened substance inside the wrap. it's more like what Tito Trinidad was doing. The Stacking I'm referring to is different - stacking is placing tape over the knuckles before gauze - not every commission will know that and it is legal in some states - just not on the knuckles - you can tape the wrist I do believe and the back of the palm just not the knuckles which is what Trinidad was doing (from what I've read and heard).

Inoue pretty much won't fight anywhere that doesn't allow stacking. They say its to protect the knuckles but it hardens. Notice Tito was not the same puncher once his illegal wrapping was exposed. Tito's father even said that it increases the punching power.

I strongly feel that taping hands should not be allowed with the small gloves. If you want to throw hard then take that risk of breaking your hand. Taping, then putting small gloves is basically just having bricks on your hand.

Using the old Antonio Margarito hack
More like the Tito Trinidad trick.

Margarito was different than stacking - he actually was putting something already hardened in the wraps. Stacking is putting tape on the knuckles, gauze, then tape and it hardens when sweat starts.

I'd say in the lighter weightclasses its Topuria and Emmett who are the hardest hitters, and the funny ironic thing is they actually fought and there was no KO and it went to a 5 round decision lol. Just shows you how you think a fight will be a certain KO but yet it goes the full 5

Its such a shame Emmett was signed to UFC very late in his career, his best days were already gone, its a shame, if they signed him 15 years ago when he was like 25 years old it would have been great.

No special shout out to Cub Swanson?
A Number Of Opponents Edson Barboza Could Potentially Face Next

Ive been hit with same shot a few times

I use to spar him at his gym when he was on fya (5-fight streak)

He throws all his signature shots when training, like hard

I saw him two weeks ago in Laughlin, I wanted to shake his hand but couldn't get to him in time. He seems like he'd be a handful in training. Cowboy Cerrone along with Pat and Ryan Healy are like that too.

There are guys like Emmet and JG who hit hard in the sense that they are throwing 100% winging punches. Justin has legimiately thrown himself to the ground in multiple fights swinging. Josh winds up and swings for the fence.

Both of those guys 'hit hard' but they are winding up their shots and ripping to their maximal effort.

Illia is clean. He's hitting guys fast, accurate and without exaggerated effort. He's heavy handed in a way that is fundamentally different than those other guys.

He’s cool, but also not really

But I understand, he made it high-level and its a certain mind-set these guys have, I don’t have

I was very good, getting old now, but I have a lot of experience, and use to touch-up Cub. But he’ll absorb it, wind-up, and hit you full-power. I don’t like to spar like that, but that would be more like a real fight

Also grappling, I have a lot of experience there too. I have a couple times where I’ve swept him off his feet, and uses non-grappling tactics to regain control, like horse-kicking a fool while rolling in a gi…..

He’s a helluva fighter though, was just thinking about some of his fights in my mind this morning on way to work
