Rampage handed out a piece of paper to Igor , what the heck was that all about ?

I believe it was a note that said "please don't hurt my son" from his mother or something along those lines

lmfao i never knew that happened, Rampage is the man. So is Igor for having the rep he did/does.

I remember reading this. I think it said that that her son if a good boy and to not hurt him too badly lol. Igor is a BOSS.

Yes that is what it said.

Then Rampage gave him one the most merciless beatings of his career. Multiple slams and brutal body shots. Igor had to tap from a body shot!

I thought it was actually much worse than the Coleman or Mirko beat down he received.

That was Rampage at his scariest!

If that had been a Memphis street fight with no ref, Igor could do nothing to stop that brutal assault. A truly shocking fight between two legends.

The best part was when Igor tried to grab a guillotine and Rampage was like "Nope. GET SLAMMED!!!"

Igor is my favorite fighter of all time.

Read about his fights at the IFC 1: Combat in Kiev tournament. That was a fucking hilarious spell that involves Igor destroying people, the event promoters running from the Russian Mafia, and a a legit car chase to get the tapes for the show out of Ukraine.

Rampage was like an MMA action hero in those days - kicking ass left and right, and always thoroughly entertaining.
I saw his debut fight on a DVD once - I dunno - maybe IFL or something, and Ken Shamrock was commentating - Rampage lost, but only after giving absolutely everything he could for the 15 mins - when the last bell rang he instantly collapsed, Ken Shamrock exclaiming, "I love this kid! I LOVE this kid! I LOVE THIS KID!"

I love the story about Igor too - that the town where he lived used to ring the church bell as a warning when he got drunk!

Igor was just a beast of a man. Stocky and insanely powerful with sledgehammer fists. The knockouts of Yoshiki Takahashi and I believe it was Francisco Bueno both left me in awe the first time I saw them. The 2 fights with Kerr were amazing, I also love Vov vs Paul Varelans, huge size difference but Igor just beats him up. Also the beatdown on Enson Inoue was brutally scary.

I think that was King of the Cage - KOTC 4 Gladiators, against Marvin Eastman. Shamrock was commentating for them at that time.

Bas and Stephen Quadros were doing IFL at that time.

Takahashi looked like he had not studied the Bueno knock out and became a carbon copy victim.

Igor should have got a DQ for that first Kerr fight. Illegal knee!

Varelans...sigh! One of the largest cans at that time. A bouncer at strip club here in SF told me about a fight he had with Varelans at the club...result...Varelans catching yet another beating.

Inoue was on some weird kamaaze yakuza trip...hoping for that lucky punch. Wearing a gi made him also overheat prematurely. He took a rifle to a machine gun fight. Unfortunate game plan.

That IFC event with Igor was hilarious! Bas Rutten kept saying "Dis Igor guy hits very hard!"

Yeah a 380lb Samoan guy at Mitchell Brothers on O'Farrell. We were talking about some of his war stories, then he brings up a club fight he had with a UFC fighter...I said who...he said...a guy from San Jose State..,uuhn Paul Varelans. Then he laughed and said it was not one of his toughest fights.

I don't know, a bouncer in Holland told me he beat up Badr Hari & Melvin Manhoef in the same night.
(that was after the Overeem bros laid waste to a party of 7 bouncers)
Not sure if legit.

That bell story with Igor was apparently when he got mad and went on a rampage, not when he was drunk I believe? IIRC...

Who was that blond lady who was always in Igor's corner in PRIDE btw? Always wondered...
