Crime If Trump committed a crime, should he be prosecuted?

Assuming Trump had committed a crime, should he be charged?

He is failing to uphold his oath of office, and to uphold the constitution. He also maybe guilty of sedition.

Biden called him out just now.

BIDEN TO TRUMP: "STEP UP"

eh maybe Biden should just tell him to "STEP DOWN"?

No one is above the law no matter what the Trump cult believes.

LOL, what politician hasnt. Im no trump fan but to think he is any worse then rest he isnt, he just tells everyone about it

That might inflame them. Say what your want about Joe but that’s how a president should act.

Now imagine if Trump refuse to leave the Whitehouse and his mass of supporters surround the House to Protect Trump?

Although people say that is highly unlikely as Trump is only doing this as posturing as a campaign for 2024.

But at this point who knows?

I hope this isn’t how someone trying to run for president thinks you should behave.

The way I see it since 2015 it seems being obnoxious gets you the vote, we have seen it even in some smaller nations.

If he committed a crime isn’t that after the verdict ?

LOL well good I made this thread like 14 hours ago already

Then why aren’t his predecessors in prison right now?

I'm sure they'd just pick some scapegoats close to Trump to go to jail, while Trump left the country.

Almost always go with first option, but I guess it depends on the crime. I’m sure he’s done a lot of things (and not done things, like disclosing conflicts of interest) that can be retroactively filed as a crime, I don’t know that it’s worth it to put America through that clown show, though.
Hmm, based on recent tweets, I’ve changed my mind.

Yes, and lock some of his sycophantic cultists with him so he doesn't die from not having his ass kissed 24/7
I'm sure in between smooches they can discuss the glorious western civilization and how brown people ruined it, or whatever the fuck these inbred cunts talk about on their alt-right forums

Edit:

What if he knowingly allowed torture of prisoners of war or if he knew about the torturing of prisoners of war and was in a position to stop said torture of prisoners of war. Both of these violate the Geneva Conventions. Should he be prosecuted?
probably, but we've seen this play out before. Congress is culpable as well so they change the laws to suit everyone.

In regards to the TS's question, yes he should definitely be charged with a crime if he committed one, with some leeway granted because there are gray areas in laws and high level government officials, esp. the president, are put in situations where they have to make decisions in those gray areas.

Unfortunately right now we have some much venom on both sides of the political divide (despite not a whole lot of empty space existing between the two sides on many issues or values) that we are seeing prosecution used as a political lever.

We have actually really unhealthy behavior from elected officials in both ways- undeserved pardons because no one wants to give up their own de facto pardon, and using impeachment as a political tool. Both are pretty terrible.

I'm hot and cold on the thought. I'm with Comey on the importance of fostering trust given that 70 million people still believe the elections were stolen. Prosecuting Trump would just add fuel to that fire and what good would come out of putting him in jail other than schadenfreude? We can still have our schadenfreude through the NY state investigations, and all the financial fallout he will suffer from a declining brand value. But the big question is what will we uncover once the Biden administration gets the Oval Office and we start finding out about all the things that were kept secret and weren't leaked? If we know they he has made attempts to involve the military against his own people for purposes of staying in power, or that he has had more dealings with foreign powers for domestic political benefit, then it could very well be too much to just a blind eye
I'm cool with bouncing out the country for a bit if they wanna go 70 million dead in a civil war. come back and be like.... hot damn! look at all these jobs!
