Don't worry the UFC is not going to be "politically correct" they just showed off Mel Gibson at the Apex haha.

Also if it doesn't happen I'm guessing it'd because of Izzy ducking( although I don't think that'll happen because honestly Izzy smokes him basically any day of the week). The UFC knows what appeals to their American fan base (their main fan base), they've been pushing Strickland and will continue to do so and they are definitely aware of how juicy a build up to Izzy vs Strickland would be.

I will admit though even though his gimmick dosnt jive with me, I'd enjoy the build to Strickland vs Izzy too. Some real beef .
 
Sean is 2-2 in his last 4 fights. Hasn’t beaten a top 5 MW ever and none of his latest two wins are against top10 talent.

For clarity, Sean is a great fighter but him leapfrogging over better fighters without proving he can beat any of them because, “new blood” is ridiculous imo

Cannonier deserves it more but he’s a rematch and the first fight stunk so I get it. But if Dricus beats Rob (snowball’s chance in hell but still) then he will obviously get the next title shot.

Agreed! Imo it's highlllyyyyyy likely Strickland's next fight will be a title contender fight. The UFC set this match up to give Strickland a nice finish(after some stinkers and L's) and a platform. He's definitely gonna start snowballing in terms of popularity after this.

I'm not ready to give Sean a title fight myself, but he's getting a contender eliminator IMO.

The UFC should also run classes in how to manage your career to younger fighters and base it around Strickland.

Strickland 'lost' to Cannonier, and less than a month later beat Imavov. He then beat another up and comer in Abus. Now he's considered to be a fucking awesome warrior who backs down from no one, to the point his defeat to Jared is overruled.

That's how to do it.

Rewarding rank squatters is the UFC getting it wrong; rewarding Sean for playing the game is where they get it right.

Again, no title shot immediately, but he's right up there.

This is the fight business. It's about selling PPVs. Izzy has fought and beat Rob in decisive fashion and DDP is a fucking mute slab of wood.

If WME isn't out to make the UFC into professional shuffleboard, they should make the Strickland fight. I'm not convinced that they don't want it to be boring though.
