We are not in a position to make that decision, only Shane Carwin can. If he was to retire, he would be more than okay since he is an engineer.

Even if he did, he had a pretty good career for starting as late as he did and having a full time job . Sometimes you just can't shake the injury bug

I think he's playing with the thought of retiring. I'm pretty sure that if he loses his next fight or if he's getting injured again, he'll quit.

i would personally like to see him retire now, the back injury he had before the knee was a horrible one and at his age i don't think it's worth it health wise, but if he loves the sport to much then he'll continue

I feel bad for Shane, he seems like a cool down to earth guy. But if he keeps getting injured the ufc will have no choice but to cut him.
