If Ngannou leaves

He wants to go to boxing to fight Fury, but it would be a dreadful decision because he would get clowned badly, Ngannou loads up and loads up and loads up on every punch.. against any decent pro HW boxer he would be a complete and utter punching bag, it would look really bad. Then what?! . He needs to seriously think it through. He has a great place as UFC HW champ in a very poor division.. he can look good and keep winning.
He can look good and keep winning while building up a better bank statement without ever fighting a top HW until it's time to cash out with a name.

I can't imagine another MMA promotion that would be able to pay Francis a comparable rate.
He made PFL tournament money in his last fight alone.

Yeah I don't know why people think he's planning on an immediate shot with Fury. They'll set him up with a few guys outside the top 50 (HW boxing is not much deeper than UFC HW), and after a few newsreel KOs they'll find the perfect match for him inside the top15 that he can win, and if that goes well then they'll hype a title shot.

Conor vs. Mayweather was a 1-time fluke for boxing that would only happen with those 2 characters. The HW division promoters and fans won't allow someone to completely jump the queue like that, even if Ngannou were as popular as Conor they'd set up 2-3 fights he can win so he could "earn" his shot.

can't wait to see dana seethe and the only thing he'd be able to say is "derrick lewis beat francis so he's better"

but i just dont think any other organizations will have fun matchups for him at HW, he'd probably switch to boxing though, i'd imagine.

Bellator has a really good HW division this isn't true.

With all the rumours going around Ngannous feud with Dana and possibly Francis leaving at the end of it?

Assuming he would go to Bellator, would this be a spark for other prolific superstars going the same way as Francis?

Losing Francis would be a huge loss and not like losing a average fighter as Ryan Bader who became the champ in Bellator.

We are talking about a champ in the UFC...the current one

He's not leaving as a current champ. If he wins his contract will be extended and the UFC will give him more money on top of this to extend.
If he loses his value goes way down and UFC will let him walk but his value is also lower in the open market for boxing.

Ngannou 's big love is boxing ...
just happened to be in UFC ...
and then become a Champ ... !

( 28 - 0 in this thread ... Dats Tuff ... ! )

i hope he does go to boxing. so he gets the reality check. he might have 1 big payday, but that's it.

A lot of people were eager for Miocic to lose the belt because they saw Stipe as a complaining, lazy malingerer and they thought Ngannou as champ would be knocking fools out every two months on the dot for their viewing pleasure for years to come, a sort of problem-free KO automaton.

I tried to warn them that Ngannou would bounce for boxing as soon as practicable, but to little effect. I wonder how they feel now that his beefs with the UFC make Stipe's grumblings seem quaint in comparison.

To leave, he would have to lose vs Gane, which would mean he ISN'T the current champ.

If he wins, he is automatically locked into one more fight perpetually, until he loses.

It depends if he loses the fight with Gane or not. The biggest fights in boxing are available if he is UFC champion. He can still leave after a loss but his boxing fight options are very limited unless he wants to be a jobber. He can't even take a rapid but working his way up approach to boxing since he is older. He doesn't have 4-5 years to do so. Even if he does that; all the hype around him will be gone.

Champion's clause - I believe if he wins this fight he has one more for the UFC

He has hype and I would imagine he can make a lot more in boxing even at his age and experience level. I'd love to see him pull a Richie Tenenbaum - what then!!??

I hope as soon as the fight starts Ngannou just walks out of the cage like that one boxer who I can't remember.

I hope Uncle Fester can manage to keep Ngannou around, but he has a name now, thanks to his work in the UFC, and he can definitely ply his trade in the boxing ring. I don't think he has the necessary skills to succeed in the ring, but that is just my two cents. I think he has accuracy problems, and he hesitates at times.

He’ll stay in the ufc if he isn’t a moron. He’d get tuned up more than Woodley if he goes into boxing.

He won the title in the biggest MMA promotion in the world. His next step should be boxing or freak shows to get paid.

I think Francis just wants to see his worth outside of what UFC is offering and there is nothing wrong with that. He's already beaten virtually everyone at HW.
