IF GSP comes back at UFC 200, who gets the main event slot?

If GSP makes an unexpected comeback at UFC 200 and fights WW champion Robbie Lawler, would he get the main event slot? Or would it go to GOAT Conor Mac in his title defence against Edgar/Aldo or rematch with Diaz.

shit i answered incorrectly there on the poll. Im going with conor vs edgar or Aldo as main event. That belt has way more relevance with those combatants fighting than gsp fighting robbie. gsp has been out for 2 years and looked like garbage in his last fight with hendricks that was a decision GIFT win for him. COnor is the ppv king and as such he should always have top billing until he is dethroned in that sense. If you are selling the tickets, and not wolf but real ones, you get top billing.

You can change your vote ;)

GSP is unquestionably the UFC's GOAT. There is no question a return after 3 years especially while hes still relatively young and against the current reigning champ would be the main event. There is literally no amount of talking or antics McGregor could do that would be enough to steal that spot.

IF Conor beat Diaz ... I would say Conor.

But since he is coming off of a loss ... GSP vs Lawyer is for the heavier weight title, Lawyer has had increbile fights recently, and GSP's return who use to be the biggest star in the company .... Lawyer vs GSP would be the main event.

I was pretty much going to say this

Jesus its the top 2 WW's of the last 10 years.

of course its GSP VS Robbie headlining if that fight were to happen.

GSP.
If Conor didn't lose to Nate then you can make the argument.

I'd say GSP.

Ending with GSP proving he's still the best and getting the belt, or Lawler cementing his position as Champion, and George passing the torch would be a much better scene to end on.

This. McGregor heading back to the manlet division is icing on the cake, not the main event.

in ppv or performance? because I certainly disagree with both angles. Brock and Ronda are the ppv king and queen by far and as for performance, Anderson is the ufc GOAT because he literally mesmerized fans with spectacular performances and made 10 title defenses in the process. No doubt gsp is an all time great but hes not on Andersons level.

If gsp is in a title fight, it's him. Non-title would be tough. Especially because there most likely will be 2 title fights on there already. If it's him vs Lawler, that's a no-brainer. Its gsp all day. Want to see it so bad. Robbies tdd vs gsps tds. Plus both are excellent fighters. I got Robbie d/t layoff and such, but it's gsp. He's the best ww I have ever seen and he is in that small group of "best ever" fighter.

Clearly performance wise as a fighter. As a ppv draw he still isnt that far behind Brock and Ronda. I would disagree with Anderson because the positive steroid test is just a huge blemish and puts an asterisk next to his name. As well as the multiple vicious losses hes had recently. I also think GSP fought the better competition. And I think GSP is the more well rounded fighter.

GSP's return will be bigger than pretty much anything. It mains. Also, FO with the Conor GOAT shit already.

See, if UFC 200 wasn't Conor's next fight, I'd be very interested to see the PPV numbers he does. They'd always be high, but I think they'd be lower than you'd expect after him losing like that. Some people will 100% disagree with me, but I honestly don't think people understand how many fair-weather fans will ignore MMA now that he lost.

UFC 200 will do mega-numbers no matter what, but I think it's only fair for Lawler vs St. Pierre to be the main event. It wouldn't be, because Dana seems to think that people only want to see Conor, which is fine, but it just takes away from the legitimacy of their "sport".

Robbie Lawler has done more in MMA than Conor in terms of resume, Georges has done much, much more in MMA than Conor. Georges is a returning all-time great, who never lost his belt - how can that not be the main event!?

But... we all know the Conor fanboydom would continue, and they'd ignore their "high weight-class gets Main Event rule" and they'd squeeze him in.

It annoys me, but I shouldn't let it.
