If Edgar becomes a 2 division champ, does Aldo´s legacy become even greater too? Or not necessarily?

What´s your opinion about this, people?

One of Aldo’s best if not his best set of wins. Jose is a badass and one of the best FW’s ever so if Edgar won the title it would make them both look even better.

It definitely looks better when a guy you beat twice is a double champ.

Nah Aldo beat a LW champ twice. Those of us who aren't dumb know how huge beating Frankie is especially since he ran through the whole division to get the second crack

Those who don't appreciate never will and those who will already do

All winning a second belt will do is solidify Frankie as an all time great which tbh he already is

It shows the competitiveness in the division, styles make fights and perhaps Aldo isn't done just yet.

Nah Aldo legacy is what it is at this point unless he wins another title himself.

I´m a huge fan, and he still has 2 or 3 fights left in the contract, but his mind is clearly somewhere else.

Aldo's legacy is so cemented at this point he could only hurt it. Imo even winniwi the fw belt again wouldn't make it much better.

Frankie too, his wins over bj and his fights with maynard were epic.

Are we talking the title or the interim belt, because they're giving the latter away like hotcakes lately. Max is champ, and Frankie isn't beating him.

Aldo had a solid decade of accomplishment in MMA before his embarrassing loss to McGregor. Like Fedor and Silva, his greatest accomplishments are now in the history books and untouchable.

He was once a great fighter, and he's still a very good fighter. But his best accomplishments are now part of history and can't be relived again.

Frankie is in the same boat. I don't care what happens with Edgar now. We've already seen the best Frankie.

I don't like the idea of fighter's wins becoming more impressive after the person they beat goes on to improve their resume. How impressive a win is should only be based on how impressive the win was at that given moment in both fighters careers.

For an extreme example - I don't think Dan Severn's win over Forrest Griffin is something to be giving Dan a lot of credit for.

Aldo is still FW GOAT and I'm a huge Max fan but fighters get old and speed is first thing to go. Aldo is just past prime...happens. Max has like 3-4 more wins to go before he's up there. Aldo could lose his last 3 fights on contract and still GOAT IMO.

I disagree. It's basically just MMAth.

Edgar and Aldo both employ different styles.

Edgar is more technical, long lasting, and uses wrestling. Aldo is power, precision, and alot of leg kicks.

Aldo's style doesn't match up well for someone as tough and well rounded as Holloway, but Edgar's just might
