If "chin" were removed from the equation...

haha but basically all the 1800s is a blur to me because I spent from 1803-1920 in the slammer. @Arqueto planted 85 Ibs of stolen catnip in my car and that evil police officer @BroRogan chased me down and sent me to slammer for over hundred years

We're innocent and the footage of the dodgy deal taking place is fake. Nobody knows nottin

Interesting idea. But hard to pick names, who would do better, probably some fighter that has long reach, high output, and is point fighter. Flyweights would rule the UFC and win against HW :) if they manage to run from takedowns

This would mean that there are no head KOs and TKOs.

Fighters with great KO power and aggressive style would be at big disadvantages too, and point fighters would do even better all the time.

Question cannot be answered.

If you have a good chin it affects the way you fight.

If you don't it affects the way you fight.
Too true. My coach always told me the worst thing a fighter can find out about themselves is they have a good chin because they won't bother with slipping or blocking.

If everyone had the same "chin" then which fighters would be the best?

Like say everyone has a medium chin.

So guys like Mark Hunt and Roy Nelson would probably have been much less successful.

But this would've greatly extended the success of guys like Chuck Liddell and Andrei Arlovski.

Also Fedor would have never suffered all those KO's late in his career because his chin wouldn't be shot. He would still have losses to Bigfoot and Werdum though.

If everyone had Hunto chin

Arlovski and Overeem would be the GOAT HWs

Lyoto Era would've never ended. Same with Anderson

GSP would have 1 less loss

Aldo and Cody would still be champs

Vern Cathey would be LHW GOAT and sponsored by Home Depot if he wasn't such a glass cannon.

It keeps his slaps honest though, since a single offensive foul would likely result in a DQ or KO loss for him.

The glass chinned fighters would've had better and more consistent careers. The iron chinned fighters that relied on toughness would've never made it that far in their careers.

Huge Arlovski fan here. It was genuinely sad to see how many times he'd folded because of his chin. Then again, his striking defense was also to blame.

Fedor was losing fights because he fought like a moron, like he had his whole career, not because his chin was gone. That was a secondary issue to the underlying issue of fighting stupid that exacerbated it. He could've lost plenty fights from how he usually fought, chin or no. His streak is incredible because of how unlikely it was.

The correct answer is someone like Edgar who always had great technique and fundamentals all the way till the end, but kept fighting like he still had his great chin (recovery) from his younger days. He should've won most of those later fights if it was skill for skill. If anything his issue was complaceny and predictability, not chin.

Would GSP have one less loss with Serra being dropped, or was that punch so perfectly placed and hard that in this scenario GSP would actually have one more TKO loss against Condit and the giant headkick? Or since GSP claims he learned from the Serra KO loss, perhaps it would have been Condit to be the first to TKO him over Serra?

My scenario is everyone has Hunto chin. So GSP would never have to worry about getting dropped KOed or TKOed

Mark Hunt without a chin is something that I don't want to ever see.

Big Nog would have been a middle of the road HW.
Edit: Now that I think about it Big Nog would have been killed by Bob Sapp in OP's scenario and the sport would maybe not even exist!

Cody Garbrandt would have benefitted from this scenario greatly.
Big Nog wouldn’t have survived being run over by a truck if he was normal.

Everyone dies with one touch: Khabib or Yousef Zalal (lol) is GOAT.

Everyone has an indestructible chin: Holloway, Volk, DJ, Jones, Dominick Cruz, GSP or Khabib is GOAT. Guys who can win decisions without rocking, dropping or KOing the opponents. Aldo would do good, just kick your legs loads. The game plans would change - people might look to hit the body and legs more, especially if they want a finish.
