If Chandler had a high fight IQ, he could’ve been the next GSP

Top 5 LW for 8 yrs? The f are you smoking. He beat Hooker and the corpse of Tony who was already on the biggest losing streak and not even ranked and got absolutely destroyed in every single other fight he had, so how can someone that gets demolished by everyone be top 5? He is 1-5, has absolutely 0 skills. The only thing he does is duck his head and throw a wild hook before he gasses after 2min and becomes a punching bag. Hell, he’s the only fighter in Tony’s 10 fight losing streak that made Tony look great…
Chandler was a top LW long before he ever got to the ufc.

He was already 35 and past his prime when he got to the ufc.

But still gave very competitive fights to Poirier, Gaethje, Oliveira.

I'm not sure what world you live in where someone can compete with the best fighters on the planet and have no skills.

He's definitely nowhere near the fighter he was, relegated to a one dimensional head hunter, as is common with an aging athlete.

But to act like he's never been good is just low iq recency bias.

Up until these last few years, he'd been a top fighter for a long time, something everyone, including the fighters have known.

Dunno how someone who's name is "bjjwar" who has been here for over 10 years produces such consistently shitty hot takes that come off like a casual reading wikipedia.

He came in too old. He might have done better if he came in with Alvarez.

I thought testing would eat him but I guess he is a jacked white guy like Bork.

he fights like a drunken sailor after 1st round. not good for winning long term

clearly none of you retards were watching his career in bellator

gsp is one of the bigest ww in his time
chandler on the other hand is a manlet with t rex arms

Again, you said he was a top 5 LW for the last 8 yrs when in the last 4 years he has 1 win and 5 losses lol. While the win coming vs a guy on a 8 fight losing streak where he actually looked atrocious before the front kick. Before that he was in Bellator, where AGAIN he got KO’ed there too in his last fight for the belt. I dont get how a guy that gets destroyed by everyone year after year is a top fighter…Unless you dont know that the goal in competitve sports is to win. Losing is bad fyi.

Bro got outstruck by Paddy Pimblett and the corpse of Tony Ferguson, got outgrappled and manhandled by Charles, Pimblett. I mean, he’s terrible everywhere and has 0 skills lol. How dare you compare him with GSP who was amazingly well rounded…
Reminding everyone who is currently reading this that Chandler is the only person to lose a round to Tony Ferguson in the 2020s. On all three cards.

Ship sailed long-ago

Imagine if he had joined ATT a decade ago instead of stand-n-bang Hooft style all this time

He coulda been much better programmed

He would have to be alot better technically to even be close to that. Fight iq be damned.

Maybe at 145 lbs.

Guys at the top of the 155lb division are just too big and range-y for him.

he's physically gifted but lacks elite technique

basically a better drew dober

at this point they should fight, i wanna see that

If Chandler fought safer and focused more on technique, his athleticism and wrestling alone would’ve made him one of the LW elites, well maybe not like GSP’s level but close to it.

I remember prior to the GSP and BJ Penn rematch, BJ was saying that GSP was more of an athlete than a fighter. That’s what I see with Chandler. The man has nuclear athleticism but he’s using it the wrong way. I’m afraid it’s too late for him to change now, but if there is ever a LW as explosive as him, that fighter will get far if fought with more intelligence.
? He is short and explosive with a wrestling background. That is it. He could never be the next GSP lol. Especially at that weight. Needs way more tools
