"I would totally tap out"- Mike Tyson

The Douglas loss never should've happened. Not only did Tyson not train at all for that fight, but Douglas wasn't up until 13 due to a bad count on the ref's part. So, as you said, he took quite a beating, completely out of shape, and, even though it wasn't official, stopped a Douglas that was in the best shape of his life. He has more heart than he gets credit for.

You also made an excellent point with him being the most over/underrated boxer at the same time. Honestly, the Iron Mike that used to go run at 4 in the morning "because the other guy ain't", was pretty fucking beast. If he kept that level of discipline and dedication throughout his career, I don't know if he would've lost to Holyfield or Lewis.

He was tough as hell, and he had plenty of heart. When his discipline slipped is when he started slipping. You can see it as far back as the Berbick fight. He destroyed Berbick, but he looked sloppy doing it and he clearly wasn't the same guy he started out as.

People forget he was a small heavyweight. You have to be sharp to even compete with some of those monsters, especially when you're always giving up height and reach...most of the time, weight too.
@cunglaowins decided to take a positive thread and post this gem "Yeah I think this is exactly what happens when your testosterone declines. Not only your appearance changes but also your personality. You become this agreeable jolly old man. Testosterone makes you suppress your fear. Mikes been a vegan for years. Big mistake. It took away his manhood" {<huh}Tyson's humble but internet bloggers are hilarious.Tyson is chilling and successful but because he is happy with his life and is apparently Vegan he has lost his manhood. {<jordan}

Mike would have absolutely brutalized Royce.
I think the gracies would have sent Rickson instead of Royce if someone like Mike Tyson were to fight

Mike Tyson Could Have Been UFC Champ, Says UFC Legend Rashad Evans

Mike Tyson was the youngest heavyweight champion ever ... but there's another champion he could've been ... UFC champion, so says MMA legend Rashad Evans.

Mike and Rashad are buddies and business partners -- remember Tyson recently hooked Evans up with boxing pointers on the sideline of an NFL game -- so when we talked to "Suga," we asked how Iron Mike would've fared in the Octagon.

"He could've been amazing, because every single time he lowers his level in a crouch situation, that could've been him faking for a shot and doing a level change, or doing a shot. So, he would've thrown the person off not knowing if he was going for a shot or go for a punch."

"You know when Tyson came up from that crouch position. He was coming up with those hands and that left hook, overhand right. It would've been lights out."

But, UFC heavyweight champion???

"Oh yeah, for sure. For sure. At a young age too. That's the thing, Mike Tyson's a sponge. That's one thing I learned about Mike: Mike knows everything. Mike's gonna study everything. There's no doubt in my mind, he would've been proficient in almost every aspect of the sport just because that's the way his mind works."

FYI, Rashad -- who was retired -- just secured his release from the UFC ... and is now available to sign with other promotions. We're told he's looking to take a fight in the near future.

Young Mikey T was an absolutely ridiculous athlete

Even 6 months of grappling would have made him into a serious problem for anyone

I'm pretty glad my short MMA amature MMA career ended before someone stomped my feet. That sounds awful.

Mike's a good guy that lost it for a while. He was a badass boxer who made a ton of money and lost it all because he is so easily influenced. In the day he was the baddest man on the planet. He is older and wiser now, and doesnt need the posse around him and all the guys in his ear after the money. He's hard not to like now, and doesnt resemble the guy he was when he was knocking everyone out. Hope the cannabis business is good for him, and he makes it work.

old mike not ruled by ego
like young mike

Young Mike was a straight up killer. Old Mike is just wise. But old Mike would have never made the money or become popular.

young mike dropped acid as a pre teen

young mike became a straight up killer in the ring

young Mike slept with his 550 lb pet tiger
when the coin was rolling freely

the guy has an amazing story

love the honesty and humility of old mike tho

Can we add one month of ballett dance to avoid foot stomps ?
This with 4 months sprawl training guarantees Mike Tyson ufc champ

before stomp many would eat devastating uppercut or hook

I don't fully agree with him having no heart and think that's a bit of a myth

He took a hell of a beating from Douglas, Lewis and Holyfield before going down

He was completely shot by the time he fought Williams and McBride

The only fight he quit was the rematch with Evander

I think he lacked a plan B, when things were not going his way, but look at the beating he took from Lewis

Even Lennox acknowledges how much heart Mike showed in that fight. He took one hell of a beating.

Tyson is easily the most over/under rated fighter of all time.

Fanboy's think he was invincible at his peak

Others think he crumbles with the first sign of adversity

Both statements are wrong

Noone cares what you think. Majority of trainers and fighters will say that Mike was the most dangerous boxer in history.

He lacked leadership and advices when Cus died

I don't think Mike believes that. He would just rather be passive then act like he'd fuck up people. I just know if I was old and had nothing to prove I'd rather be humble than make headlines and have people hunting me to answer questions.

He would have had a much easier time converting to MMA than most boxers because he had such a low center of gravity and that makes it way easier to learn to defend takedowns, plus he had short arms so he didn't need much room to get power into his punches so you wouldn't be safe even in the clinch.
