Media I went to UFC Paris and had a blast!

Hey @BoxerMaurits how you doing bud? What’s the next fights you plan to attend. Do you enjoy traveling? Where is your home base? Have you visited the us? Southeast Asia? What’s your favorite music? Just felt like reaching out across the ocean to say hello. :)

Hey bud, I’m doing great, hopefully you too!
Yeah I enjoy travelling a lot and I live in the Netherlands.
I’ve never visited the US or Asia, but it’s a plan of my family (my mom, dad, big brother, little brother and me) to go to the US together in about 2 years and make a great trip out of it.
Personally I like house/techno music the most (I’m a young guy who likes to go clubbing with his friends so yeah:)), but I can enjoy a lot of music. I also like the old classics aka Tuivasa-style walkout songs<45>, what about you?
My next stop is a big GLORY Kickboxing event in a sold out football stadium in my homecountry of the Netherlands.
I also went to their last event, GLORY 81: Jamal Ben Saddik vs Benjamin Adegbuyi
Had a great time in Düsseldorf and I made a thread about my experiences there aswell.
Here it is in case you missed that one:
https://forums.sherdog.com/threads/i-went-to-glory-81-last-week-and-had-a-blast.4253502/

Next up for me is GLORY Collision 4: Badr Hari vs Alistair Overeem, October 8.

Really looking forward to that one, they’ve put together a great fightcard! Are you into kickboxing?

I also made it to the MMA hour 2 days ago, and let Ariel Helwani talk a little bit about the Glory event:D
Timestamped at my question:

Sweet. Enjoy that GLORY event. Yeah I like watching kickboxing. Mainly watch MMA. Right now watching LFA on ufc fight pass.

I love all kinds of music. Often post in the jukebox section here.

If / when you visit the US hit me up if you make it out to the Southwest.

I've been to the Netherlands a few times. I love it. Great people, great flowers, great food.

Enjoy your posts, and enthusiasm for all things MMA. Take care and have a good weekend!

I want to start by saying that the French crowd really exceeded my expectations, wow.
Looked like a London crowd, but in a French sense<45>
Succesful debut in France. I’m sure the UFC will return there.
And I haven’t even talked about the fights yet. What a great night of fights:D

We arrived in Paris friday afternoon and immediately went to the ceremonial weigh-ins and Q&A featuring GSP. Hotel was at 100 m from the Accor Arena, so luckily that wasn’t a long walk.

The Q&A with GSP was fun. MMA reporters were the first to ask questions. Then it was the fans' turn to ask questions. I also entered the queue to ask a question, but unfortunately they ran out of time and I didn’t make it to the mic.
GSP is so well spoken, a joy to listen to him.

After this we went to an English-pub to eat something, followed by a lot of beer while enjoying ARES 8 on tv:

Around 1am we were getting wasted, so we went back to the hotel.
On our way back we walked by the UFC fan-experience so I decided to open the gate and walk inside, while my dad made this blurry ass picture of me standing totally sober at UFC-ground by midnight:cool:

When I woke up I had a little letdown, but after eating a few croissants I was ready to go to the UFC fan-experience:cool:

I met Volkan Oezdemir at the fan-experience:

I also had the pleasure to meet Brandon Moreno:

Afterwards Brandon told me he felt honored to meet one of Sherdog’s own:

I also had a face-off with my dad, just for fun:

The UFC fan-experience was fun. We went to eat something and after that we entered the Accor Arena. It looked like the Arena was almost fully packed before the prelims even started, insane!

Okay so before I start talking fighting I wanna share this:
This fella walked by like 100 times, so he got my attention at some point.
The guy was dressed like a woman, (which is okay imo, I really have no problems with that), not a normal woman but a caveman woman. He got make-up on his face aswell..
He was also built like a god damn bodybuilder and had a lot of tattoos. And as cherry on the cake: His handbag was in the shape of a golden fist.
What a fucking warrior<45>
For some reason he seemed familiar to me. Is he some kind of hardcore/known UFC-fan maybe?

Marvin Vettori brought some fantastic Italian fans with him. Didn’t help him much in the fight, but still pretty sick imo. Check it out:

Tuivasa’s walkout was fun as always:

Hey bud, I’ve changed my plans!:D
The next event I’m attending is LFL 6 (Levels Fight League) on October 2, before I go to GLORY Collision 4 a week later.
Levels Fight League is an Amsterdam-based Mixed Martial Arts promotion who aims to provide up-and-coming prospects a platform to showcase their skills. In time they aim to become one of the bigger promotions in Europe.
They are new to the MMA game, founded in 2021.
LFL 6 got some nice fights on the card! A mix between upcoming fighters and big, well-known names in combat sports, and also 2 amateur fights on the undercard. Should be fun:)
This is a previous post of me in another thread regarding the LFL-event, for your information:

Former Glory Kickboxing middleweight champion Jason Wilnis will make his fourth appearance in MMA vs Ahmed Sami at the Dutch MMA-organization Levels Fight League (LFL 6) on October 2nd in Amsterdam.

Jason Wilnis has wins over Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira in kickboxing.

At the same event, former Glory Kickboxing welterweight champion Murthel Groenhart will make his third appearance in MMA.

Murthel Groenhart has a win over Cédric Doumbé in kickboxing.

Glory Kickboxing lightweight-contender Massaro Glunder and Gino van Steenis (MMA-fighter), younger brother of Bellator middleweight Costello van Steenis, will also fight on this card.

Hey bud that’s awesome. Have a great time. There are so many mma promotions these days. I hope they find a way to be successful.

That guy who beat Izzy. What has he been doing since then? Hopefully he can capitalize on it. That was quite a while ago. Funny how some are successful at one thing and don’t go very far while a guy like Izzy can keep improving and take things to new heights.

I first got into watching mma from watching the ufc then branched into watching all different kinds of fights. Especially enjoy it when we have a play by thread here. It’s like watching with friends, stoners, drunks and semi-lucid peeps. Especially enjoy ONE and Rizin. Sorry I haven’t clicked the link yet. Do you know if it’s available for viewing in North America?

Give a full description of the event when you attend October 2. Love reading your first person narratives.

Yes indeed, I’m curious to the production, talent pool and further developments of LFL.

Jason Wilnis had his first professional MMA-fight about a year ago. He went 2-0 in LFL since and a few months ago he made his KSW-debut against the Polish Radek Paczuski (5-0), a fellow credential kickboxer who transitioned to MMA (LFL and KSW collaborate to a certain point where some LFL-fighters also get to fight in KSW. Tom Breese for example, LFL middleweight-champ, fought and won in KSW last week)

Entering the third round, Wilnis vs Paczuski was a competitive fight between two kickboxing based fighters. The fight had an unfortunate ending with Jason snapping his finger when he hit the ground after a missed kick, resulting in a 3rd round TKO loss..

Hahah yeah, the PBP’s are great man<45>
Can’t always join them because of the time difference, but when I do it’s really fun!
Btw, is it possible that PBP threads are created for smaller, less known promotional events like LFL6 ?

LFL6 is available on Viaplay in these countries:
upload_2022-9-20_19-45-7.jpeg

I can’t see the PPV price because the event is available in the Netherlands on Viaplay, but last time the price for LFL’s PPV was €/$ 9,95, so it’s not expensive at all.
It’s available in North-America via PPV, you can buy it through this link and I think you should be able to see the price of the PPV there aswell:
https://page.inplayer.com/lflmma/

October 2nd is on a Sunday. LFL starts at 6 pm (CEST) over here, so that’s 12 pm (EST) in North-America.
