I truly can't get on board the Gregor hype train.

Not his last fight. He has a couple times though, yeah.

He may be figuring things out more too, that's the scary thing. Lost in the fact that he's 31 years old is that he's relatively new to MMA (especially from a cage minutes perspective). He may make big leaps over the next couple years.

I'd be interested to see what a fight with Khabib would look like if Gregor just decided he was gonna take Khabib down and not mess around striking. Would he be able to? I'm not sure, but he might. Khabib is vastly underrated off his back though, better than the guys Gregor has fought. So it's no guarantee at all that Gregor dominates even if he is securing top position.

Admittedly I'm higher on Gregor than most, but I do think he's a top 5 guy right now.

I hope I'm not jinxing him where Yancy starches him Sat night LOL.

I don't think Yancy has much of anything to offer Gillespie, but who knows, stranger things have happened.

He is very good, but he is too willing on the UFC to give him top opponents, which clearly is not working.

It is like he has no desire to try and promote himself.

I have watched any and all tape I can find on the giy. He strikes me as a very generic top 15 guy. I don't see the specialness that gets this guy the future champ praise. This weekend isn't even that big of a test, which makes me think the UFC doesn't trust him to beat top talent either. Id take a good majority of the top 15 over him h2h as well. I believe he has a good career ahead of him, but he probably loses to guys like Teymur and Hernandez who have put on much better performances in the cage to date. What am i missing sherbros?

I gotta come real, @first I was bias against him because of the McGregor/Gregor name association those who know me know I'm very hard on McGregor. But on his own this Gregor kid is a pretty scrappy grinder, but gotta work on having a more complete game to compete...

Khabib would be khabibed by him. He is that good of a wrestler.

It would be interesting for sure, but hard to call at this point. Div. 1 champ vs. a bigger sambo guy with a strong wrestling orientation (compared to Fedor, Oleg Taktarov and other sambo specialists from the past).

Gregor's lone flaw is that he has been to willing to brawl on a couple occasions. Otherwise, he is absolutely the real deal. I honestly don't know how a fight with him and Khabib would play out, he's that good.

Vinc can't handle grappling. He's been suplex knocked out. Terrible example

He's generally been okay with distance control. Gregor is on another level though when it comes to exploding into level changes.

He looks solid to me. Not sure if he'll be a future champ, but I think he'll handle Yancy fairly easily. Hopefully he gets a bigger test after this.

He’s definetly been very impressive.

I am surprised how slowly UFC is moving him up the rankings considering how dominant he’s been for the most part.

5-0 in UFC and he’s just now fighting a Yancy level guy.
That's because the UFC is showing a surprising amount of foresight. Rather than cash in on the quick buck and get 1 PPV out of him and ruin him, they're moving him up the rankings slowly, giving him time to develop.

That way he might actually become a top 5 fighter, and they could get 2-3 PPVs out of him in the future, if not more.

It will Saturday IMO. The Hawian scrapper is going to be too gritty for stuck in the mud Gregor

Stuck in the mud? The guy is about as explosive and relentless as it gets in taking guys down and ruining them.

Yancy is a tough guy but his TDD isn't elite at all. How is he gonna keep Gregor from putting him on his back and mauling him?

I'll msg you Sunday to see if I'm a believer
