I do think a lot of them keep injuries secret for a long time because their ego assume they can heal in time to compete, but the week of reality sinks in that they can't.

with minor injuries for sure they do... your opponent doesn't need to know you've been struggling with a knee issue come fight time. I wouldn't call a ligament detachment "minor" though... and yes the op looks like a final exam for second graders with its dodgy grammar, punctuation and spelling.
