In the sport of MMA! They believed in him after his embarrassing loss to Nate and thought he held his own in the Floyd fight. What makes these people so addicted to him, I just don’t understand?

His supporters pretty much won the argument when he knocked out Aldo. After becoming champ, then double champ, he was confirmed to be a great fighter. A loss to Diaz doesn't change that.

Eh, a lot of people turned on him for the 6 months between the first and second Nate fight.

I know a fair few people who felt the same in spite of not being fans of him or being relatively Indifferent.

Having some semblance of objectivity doesn't necessarily make you a fan.

I think the reality Is more so that those on the extreme hating end of the spectrum aren't capable of acknowledging anything throughout his career that paints him In a positive light.

Confirmation bias Is a powerful thing and Is the enemy of thoughtful analysis.

I came for his fights, and stayed for the weigh in- and Instagram-boners.

Nate at 170 pounds presented a unique challenge, akin to fighting Nick at 170. It was a completely different opponent and level of difficulty compared to fighting him at 155. Truly the perfect storm, style and weight for someone like Conor at the time.

Much disrespect as he gets, there Isn't a lightweight on the planet that version of Nate at that weight wouldn't be a very tough challenge for. Weight Is no joke and the reality Is Nate can easily be a true welterweight as much as he can cut to lightweight. Same can be said for Nick.

I think this is one of those truths that many are Incapable of acknowledging though. Nate's also one of those guys who's been on the cusp of the very top and I feel like he needed a big fight, money to truly reach his potential and step out of Nick's shadow. Which he got with Conor. Based on that, his past fights from years ago prove to paint an Inaccurate half truth of a picture.

One of those thing's that's tricky to discern / be on point with when It comes to analysis tho. So I don't necessarily blame people for thinking otherwise.

I became a fan of him as soon as he asked to rematch Nate. That takes balls

He's got some die hard s for sure but that flock thinned the fuck out after the floyd fight.

Didn't you have that cool funny guy in your class at school? He's that guy. They always have little followers sucking at the teat and people who despise him.
