Media I sparred Khalil Rountree

Motherfugga how do you have a physique like that at 44 years old?

Also uploads the video man. How did his kicks feel, how hard did he go?
I think it's bad gym etiquette to post sparring, I caught him a few times just don't want it to look bad on him. He pulled his kicks, went for a sweep that had me stumble, he was really cool to spar. I saw him spar pros his size and that was a different story.
Give more details bro.
Awesome story
At that time Valentina Schevchenko was training on the same mat but she trained with her team, she was cool, I spoke to her a few times.

Rafael Fiziev was our K1 kickboxing coach, he entered the UFC that summer, also I saw Arman Tsarukyan that time too. Also Johnny Walker but he didn't train at Tiger, just used to see him at the restaurant. I was there this year and saw
Khamzat. I was actually going to ask my sherbro if you wanted me to beat him up for y'all. He had his crew and was cool. I have a video of him training. Just a short clip.

That's my boots Volk is wearing in the picture. Picture is from June 2019. Everybody at the gym loved the boots when I wore them in wrestling practice and Frank Hickman asked to borrow them as he was going NZ to train 'the boys'. Next I saw Volk wearing them.

I would be scared to spar him lol, not because he is a dork or anything but because of the power he has, I think even his lighter shots are not fun to take

Btw, I thought that you were Sterling on that pic
I think the pros know how to pull their strikes unless you're trying to prove something. World class pros are easier to spar than novices.

TS is juiced to the gills
I don't even take vitamins. I've never smoked nor drank alcohol in my life. I just train a lot and my genetics.
TS looking a little soft by sherdog standards but not bad overall.

Kudos on the shoutout dude
hahaha thank you 👊🏾
Does he seem like he’s hiding something dark? ive always felt like there’s just an abyss inside him, something lurking in the shadows. Even his interview with jouban and the crew, just off

Not in real life, walking around. He was really cool.

Men just can't grasp the fact that some guys are genetically gifted as well as hard worke

T hanks bro. I get the same reaction, not just at the gym, every day life. I'm now 48 and still got the same physique.

Steroids and HGH don’t crack you mean

Not at all.

That’s false, 99% of the time it’s steroids or other PEDs. Especially at that age

I'll take the 1% then.

Inspirational. Makes me want to train harder.

Go for it.

Wheres the video?
Unless I ask his permission, I don't even think he'll OK it.

Lmfao the first thing that popped into my head was what gear is this dude on lmfao
Hard work and genetics.

He's been through a rough life. He's always crying in the post fight pressers when talking about his past. Def darkness there for sure, but he seems like a good dude. Listened to him on Joe Rogans podcast. There's no secrets with him.
He's really cool but wouldn't want to get on his bad side.

Good for you man.

Thank you.
Shredded to the gills at 44, hmmm....

Well as long as you ain't competing then go for it, looking good homie.
I'm not on anything. I get the same in real life.

Hey man whatever you gotta tell yourself to deal with the massive shortcomings in your life is fine by me - stop projecting that shit into the rest of the world. Just because you hate yourself doesn't mean we have to hate you too.

I know bro.

You look crazy for 44 mirin your genes man.

I'm not tall though 🤣🤣
Men can’t? Do you identify as a woman or why would you put it that way? Lol anyway, I’m sure that is achievable as fully natural. I know people who are 40 and look great with limited training. Going at it for decades sculpts your body to look like a greek god, for sure. Unless shit genetics and lifestyle, that is.

It’s just a tradition here to ask that when someone is jacked, especially so at over 40 yo.

<BC1>

I've been training for 31 years!

Some can't grasp the fact that getting a certain look with the body at any age is impossible without enhancement.

I'm not big just cut up. Decent diet and hard training.
Very cool and motivating , TS. And congratulations on being here four years.

Thank you, I was lurking for years though.
I think they're just having a bit of fun.

I'm not mad. I'm used to it but it might inspire people to train harder.

I was in the amateur mma class in Thailand (Tiger Muay thai) and Khalil was assisting the coach, one of the Hickman brothers, after the technique and drills when it was time to spar, he put on his gear and said "you, you're sparring me"
I was maybe 165lbs and he was maybe 220. He went easy (this was the fight before Erik Anders).

What I didn't know until 2 weeks later was this couple were recording their daughter sparring (supposed to be) but my sparring with Khalil was so good they forgot to record their daughter (in the video they even said it). I got the video only because a girl in my class got sent it and she sent it to me.

I've never posted the video online and would never post but it was a great moment for me... the next day one of the coaches said "that was a good spar" and Khalil said I was good but I'll say this again, he could have ended it anytime he wanted. I was 44 years old!

Good on you man but I don't believe for a second you aren't taking something, I'm not knocking you either bc you look amazing at 44 and I wish I looked.half that good at 38.

Awesome OP but it’s clear that you cut height in these photos cause no Sherdogger is under 6’5”.

The real story of this thread isn't on page 1.

TS vs Volk announcement incoming...
UFC 300: Give Me Back My Damn Boots

I bought a bag of potato chips in Canada once.

And GSP is Canadian.

So….., pretty much the same story.

Holy shit dude you are fucking cut.

I'm walking around 195 right now I'd like to get down to high 170's / 180's walking around weight so I can look like you. Hella jelly!

Good post TS - nice to read and good posting by everyone else not turning this into the crap that a thread like this often becomes.

For what it’s worth, I absolutely believe TS can achieve that physique naturally. I’m 52 and have only been putting in the work consistently for 3 years and have seen a massive difference (BF 30% down to 12% and gained 11lbs muscle). TS has been consistently training since he was 17 and I’m sure trains way harder than I ever have or do now. For people to say he isn’t natural tells me they don’t train much or not nearly as hard as they should for good results.

Keep it up TS - it’s a great example for everyone.

To be fair, some people put in the work but genetically speaking, don’t have the ability to look like TS. But hard work definitely helps!

That's awesome. Rountree seems like a very likable dude. Him not giving Smith more shots after he was dropped, even when he had all the time in the world to really shows his character.

Ace!

Looks like he really messed your face up though!

Firstly thank you 👊🏾

Haha I don't even take supplements nor do I do weights. Just push ups, pulls, dips and some calisthenics workouts. I've been training since I was 17, consistently, boxing, kickboxing, muay thai and discovered mma in 97. Lurking sherdog since 2000 or so.

Awww I was in L.A, I've trained with coach Brian (Teach me Grappling on YouTube) in Valencia. If I go back to L.A, I'll give you a shout.

Thank you. 👊🏾

Thanks! I don't take anything. Not even vitamins. I just train super hard.

🤣🤣🤣 and if Khalil beats Pereira then can you guys be proud of a sherbro that's the real UFC champ?

Hahahah you guys are funny 👊🏾👊🏾

Great bodyfatlevel for being 44 yo!
