I remember amazon drivers used to have a rep for being better than other drivers. Why are they so sh*tty now?

The news story is 3 mins of shit jokes. I thought it was a Mad TV skit for a second.

Amazon is a soul-sucking mega corp fixated on profit over people. So bad work conditions, high turnover, etc. You treat employees like animals, and they will act in kind. And for whatever reason, most people punch down and take out their frustrations on customers or others who don't deserve it most of the time, though a few probably do.

Lady should have beat the media at their own game and livestreamed her stream and dumps and gotten some ad rev in the meantime.

my Amazon delivery guy is pretty chill tbh. Does a good job. Always polite. I help him out sometimes which I’m sure he’s probably not supposed to do but if I’m going upstairs why not drop the packages off for him lol.

Shit, there are several around where I live that have suspended licenses. Don't ask me how that happened. They also cause a bunch of damn wrecks here too.

the suspended licenses is surprising, they scan the DL everytime and I would think they'd have a way of knowing if the license was suspended.

The crashing doesn't surprise me at all, put people under pressure and they aren't really, truly professional drivers, ya, that's bad news. You really have to have your faculties when you are driving in so many unique and different places, even then, wrong turns and confusion are just a part of the gig.

much of the time, just opening an apt front door is saving a driver the headache of having to drive the undelivered packages all the way back to the station. Not every apt. has a way to get in that works and if it's after office hours, the leasing office can't open the door. At least in the case of Flex drivers who use their own cars and are paid a fixed amount, the extra hour or so to return a package they couldn't deliver matters to us. Again, amazon penalizes for undelivered as well as packages that get stolen so the option of just leaving stuff just anywhere isn't gonna work.

My experience exactly.

The titans of transport. Have a pulse? Terrible at math? Can't read? Boy do we have an opportunity for you
yup, and in an area like Seattle, there will be a lot of immigrants who can easily mistake things catastrophically. During the BLM protests, the city shut down parts of the highway because they didn't want protestors getting hit, sure enough, some ethiopian drove onto an offramp, missing all signs that the freeway was closed and drove straight at a crowd, killing 1, totally by accident. I never heard all the details so I don't know if the guy was a delivery driver but given the time of night and the total negligence and not knowing what's going on made me think it was a delivery guy.

And.., as I've recounted recently, we've had 3 or 4, but definitely 3 rideshare/delivery drivers shot and killed. One was a carjacking, the other one was a road rage situation and the other was a russian guy who got shot but they never knew why for sure. Put pressure on people who can't really understand things well enough to make good decisions and combine that with going to bad neighborhoods or running into hotheads and there will be problems.

Im right down I-5 from you. While I dont deal with Amazon, I do service and repair the other giant transport company's fleet. A vast majority of the CSPs contracted to haul for said company are immigrants that dont speak or read a lick of English. Which in theory shouldn't be possible as FMCA requires proof of proficiency in reading writing and communicating in English. Which in turn drives wages for CDL holders down. That applies to any and every sector of transportation.

A lot of things don't make sense but when it comes to dollars that makes it make sense.

There are certainly enough bodies out here for bottom feeding companies like Doordash, Amazon, Ubereats to hire anyone and give them a shot. They avoid a lot of rules by having no union or hiring people on a independent contractor basis.

Seems to make no difference to these companies what or who it hurts with their practices. The russian Amazon Flex driver I mentioned who was murdered, he'd been working there for years and I don't think or didn't hear if Amazon ever did a damned thing for his dependents and I don't even really recall hearing even a company response to the incident.

Also, there was some Ethiopian or Somalian (you probably heard about this) who raped some drunk girl in the back of his uber, her brother and dad came and beat his ass and fired shots to scare him I guess. Anyway, not a week later, I can't work because they are overnight requiring fresh background checks for all their drivers and I had to wait until the new backgrounds came through. They'll pretend to care when it helps them but usually not.

Ya know, one reason I keep doing it is because it's not really a gig I'll cry about if I lose it, I never did like being attached so much to anything that it would hurt to lose. I always say they'll be doing me a favor if they deactivate me.

You can't go to like a big grocery store or library to take a shit?
Fuck no dude. How longs that gonna take, if ur lucky, 2 mins to park 2 to walk 3 to piss 2 back 2 back you just wasted 11 minutes. They monitor you if you go off route to take a piss bc you’re not allowed to piss at the job site they will fire you on the spot for wasting company money. They DO NOT CARE. They are EVIL. They’ll just hire the next dude who needs to make a buck to live. FUCK AMAZON these companies would charge you to breathe if they could

The other day I saw an Amazon truck parked so far from the curb like no effort to parallel park and partially blocked one lane of traffic and driver went up a building for delivery.

I'd presume that's how some of the road rage cases happen. In general, the uber/lyft drivers are much worse in terms of parking in the middle of the street to let off passengers or pick them up. Now, that's the customers entitlement 100 percent.. I've driven past a customer with their order so I could park and walk to her, she gave me a thumbs down, most likely just for that. American entitlement is to blame for some problems.

She's pooping on a customers stairs / porch. If you really had to go and had no choice wouldn't you try and do it in the corner of that house

like i said, she's dumb. she'd have to be, poor girl, now her face is on the internet and news. She didn't think that would happen because, well, she's dumb.
