It's because he fights like a button masher wins playing video games. It was the opening feel out sequence of left kick to the head (x), left kick to the head(x), punch (o) and seeing Strickland respond like wtf that made me realize it. He's just literally mashing buttons and winning because button mashing is unstoppable.

not true at all, we don't believe he is the best but we don't hate him

But the old school games before they had a stamina bar.

What I meant by "hate" is he doesn't get the respect that normally comes with his resume. People are still not convinced with his skill level, almost like he's cheating or something. I'm not hating on him, just trying to comment on the paradox of the little respect he gets for being a skilled fighter. He's the button masher version of a real life professional fighter.

That's pretty forced, bruh. People just don't understand his style, but there isn't any resentment there, and people definitely respect his accomplishments. But you wanted to make the comparison whith button mashing, which is something that does come with resentment, so you called it hating, instead of just the confusion that it is.

You purposely mistake criticism for "hate". Stop it🤡

A lot of people I know dislike him just because they like Strickland. First fight all you heard was Strickland was robbed from these people and DDP sucks.

The other part of it is DDP's style isn't flashy. He may even get the finish, but it just looks sloppy to normal fans (even though it is obviously effective). He isn't KOing people to the shadow realm like an Ngannou or Pereria, isn't mauling them like a Khabib, isn't making them look out of his league like Israel used to.

Dude is just well rounded, tough, and has great cardio even if he looks tired

I'm a Strickland fan, but I don't hate Dricus at all.

If anything, he's grown on me more and more over the past several fights.

Guy is very well spoken and cerebral, seems to be evolving his game with each fight, and he comes to throw down.

Even if I might be more of a fan to some of his opponents, I can't hate on DDP. He's a good champ.

I agree, and props for that description btw. It's fascinating in its lack of conventional techniques
