It's hard to argue the fact that all these other former champs who have gotten immediate rematches is silly yet Aldo didn't get one. It was a flash KO and Aldo was gotten to before the fight even happened.
Having said that, McGregor needs to see where he stands among the top FWs and Edgar is the only top guy he hasn't fought yet. Between McG/Aldo/Edgar/Mendes, Aldo is 3-1, Edgar is 1-1, Mendes is 0-4, and McG is 2-0. I just personally wanna see if he can complete the trilogy and would set him apart from everyone else should he win. I don't think he can beat Edgar but he has to go for it to close out FW if he really wants to move up to LW on a permanent basis.
