I know Joe Rogan's Bias Is Nothing New....

If the UFC fired it's commentary team now and was starting from scratch what chance would a stand up comedian who was a fan, who trained a bit and did the backstage fighter interviews have of getting into the booth?

Can you imagine any serious sport doing it?

I think Rogan is getting worse and should have gone with Goldberg and a 'thanks. you took it as far as you could now it's time for some real professionals to take it on'.

This guy has been doing this for 20 plus years.Hes a walking encyclopedia of several disciplines of MMA.Of course over 20 years calling cage fights/MMA he's going to misstep here and there and come across bias in some instances cause he does answer to a higher power and sometimes it just happens.
Give the guy a break.Hes still here and not going nowhere.....must be doing something right.
Agreed. Everyone needs to lighten up on the rogan hate

He's awful from time to time but I wouldn't hold it against him. It happens.

He's a bad commentator sometimes. In his defense though, when a fighter I like is fighting an overmatched opponent, I usually react the same way to every little slightly successful thing they do. I Don't lie about how well the other guy is doing though.
same, though I usually throw shit across the room and curse up a storm until the neighbors complain

That was really shit what he said about Khabib, even know Joe was right Khabib's striking is not very good for this level of MMA but Joe is a professional commentator he should know better his not some drunk guy at the bar talking shit at the TV screen. He should show some professionalism call the fight as it is and put his MMA fan side away.

If was calling the fight as it is it would be like "Khabib is landing that jab over and over again and Al is not adjusting to it." not "yeah his winning with ths jab but is nothing special"

Lol when I know whoever i'm rooting for stands little chance at taking a decision I'm yelling " FUCKING PUNCH!" every time they stop throwing.

Any fight fan was looking for holes in Khabib that night. This isn't the fight. The next one is.

Khabib was supposed to win, he was supposed to be the heavy favourite and destroy.

I'm a Khabib fan and the story was, what could Al do, not what could Khabib do.
We all know what Khabib's strengths are and Al wasn't expected to pull anything new of out Khabib. But Al survived Khabib and got him to attack differently.

The new tools Khabib was "showing off", like that jab could theoretically be countered by guys like McGregor, Al was coming close.

Rogan wasn't a fan watching this fight, he was a fan looking at what the next big Khabib fight could bring. He saw many more holes than he expected, and rallied behind the underdog.

It was exciting. This is what fans do. Joe was having fun and feeling the moment. I don't want anything else.

OR I'll scream "get off the fucking cage" or "stand the fuck up!" when they're behind on the scorecards and somehow rally in the last round but make a stupid takedown or clinch when they need a finish
happens like every fight card. can't think of recent examples but every rampage loss to a wrestler he hurts them in the 3rd but doesn't keep up the pressure, that Sean O Malley fight, even DC against Jones he went for the takedown in the last round (although it was awesome) when he needed a finish, etc

I love his podcast, never miss it.
I can take or leave his commentary.
I don't watch his comedy, but I figure I've heard most of it from observing how his mind works, and learning his opinions from the podcast.
He is what he is, that's it.

Conor is further away from a 'complete game' than Khabib is.

it could be because he expected Khabib to dominate completely so when Iaquinta had any success it surprised him and got him excited
