It's a great experience for you in that in the future you'll be more clued up on what to really expect in a real-time emergency. Alot of people react VERY differently for better/worse during these incidents. Alot of people get exposed when the shit hits the fan too.

It was really fascinating to see the different reactions from everyone. It was chaos but I kind of got tunnel vision in the moment. My mom used to be good about stepping up in those situations and I always wanted to be like her, so I'm glad to know I'm not too far off.

I lifeguarded fir 1 summer. I was 16. I had one “save.” A tot jumped into a depth too high for him and was bobbing and panicking. I jumped in and got him out. His Mom preceded to scream at me because she wanted her toddler to learn the hard way!!!

Lmao I had a boss who was all about that tough love. It was a super small town so she could kind of get away with pushing the kids since she knew them, I had a ton of respect for her. I try to give the kids as much of a chance as I can before going in now, a lot of the job is reading people and knowing what they're capable of. That's why this incident today was so shocking, he looked healthy and athletic, had no fear getting in the deep end, and then slipped under right after getting in without making any sound. It was impossible to read anything leading up to it.

I'm so sorry to hear that. The scariest thing I've dealt with like this was a seizure outside the pool after talking to the girl for an hour alone. Since then they've really freaked me out because of how sudden they are.

I just did my job really. I keep having these moments of immense pride that get followed by this horrible guilt and fear that I wasn't good enough. Knowing he's ok would probably fix that, then I'll really be proud.

Tell the parents to give the child a good B complex vitamin, Omega 3s, distilled water with electrolytes (smartwater), and no fluoride tooth paste or drinking out of aluminum cans.

There is a product called "cell food" that increases the body's O2 levels. This would help a ton as well as bathing with a cup of food grade Hydrogen peroxide which does the same.

If they can do this, then any neural damage can be reversed.

If you do it, what you got will be enhanced....

You're a hero man, that's awesome you had a moment and rose to the occasion.

On the other hand, I was talking to my mom this week on the phone and I guess my brother and his wife had a life saving incident over memorial day weekend. They came across a couple that flipped a 4-wheeler somehow and were laying I'm the middle of their country road. His wife told him to stop so they could help them. He stopped, but was too freaked out to do anything. She called 911, and got out and stayed with them until EMS and Life Flight arrived. I know it probably wasn't easy to see that , but I was disappointed to hear that he probably wouldn't have even stopped had he been alone.
