What if one were to put nearly all the leftovers into a pan with sautéed onions carrots and celery, added gravy, put it in a casserole dish, and topped it off with mash potatoes and baked it till golden brown? It is truly a mirepoix of indulgent excess if you will...
My house guests said it couldn't be done, but after I chucked the leftover stuffing in my Belgian waffle maker on Friday morning and served it with sliced avacado and gravy for breakfast they must have known I wasn't playing around.
Well I'm still entertaining family tonight and it turns out when you have a bunch of culinary experience and smoke weed out on the driveway with your niece and nephew real good stuff can happen.
Behold the Thanksgiving Shepherds Pie.

All the rest of the turkey, all the rest of the gravy, all the rest of the roasted fennel apple pomegranate whatever the fuck that dish was, ALL THE REST OF THE MASH POTATOES.
They laughed as I was making it and thought I was a mad scientist, and yet when it was time to eat leftovers a second day they ate it all.
They will all be gone tomorrow but I know this night will be remembered for 2 day old food, half full bottles of red wine, and watching Elf.

It was really great and I would recommend this method for consolidation of leftovers to anyone. I put hot sauce on mine.
