I had shingles for who knows how many years after getting chicken pox in college, and it was in the same places each time it'd come back. Haven't had it in a very long time until I got the first flu shot in ages during the COVID era. It would come back multiple times per year and stay for at least a few months each time and produce a small rash in the same area and once spread horizontally across a bit. I noticed it wasn't developing as much of a rash and not coming back anywhere as strong only after I started using Dove soap on the area. No idea if it was Dove soap or if my system eventually built resistance. The Dove soap was one of the things listed in the dermatologist's generic recommendation shopping list.

I now specifically ask for the flu shot not made of eggs: Flublok.

If I don't get enough sleep, I don't feel safe to drive and the brain feels foggy and sometimes will feel like I need to shut everything down ASAP because I need to lie down very soon. Sometimes I'd be watching a baseball game on TV and have to doze off in the chair.

Correct. Shingles and chicken pox are the same virus. I had the pox twice as a child and shingles once when I was 20.
