I know shogun has declined a lot. That being said, I love how his record in the ufc looks like a chess board and people play the ''washed up'' card. Maybe Pride was not so awesome after all and maybe he was not a world beater. Still he's top 3 lhw all time.

Or maybe he had three knee surgeries and you need to watch Shogun fight in Pride, when he was healthy, so you can see with your own two eyes how fast he was back then compared to now.

Well Shogun is happy making good money while only showing up 2x a year and brawling widlly. He is past his prime he just wants to live his life with his family not train so hard not cut too much weight ect ect. He has accomplished all there is in this sport. Be the number 1 LHW, get a belt in the 2 best orgs. He just doesn't care anymore, maybe after he knew his body wouldn't let him. Who knows.

All I know is Shogun is a warrior and if I had the wife Shogun had and made the money he made....... I would like to lay in bed with her all day and not go to the gym either .

Anytime an older fighter starts speaking ambivalently about his prospects in a fight it's a sure sign that the fire is out. The dude's body is shot, he doesn't train with top sparring partners or the dedication and intensity needed for this level, and now his mental game is gone. The only thing left is an iron chin and that's a very bad thing when the rest of the pieces are missing.
