What you guys think? Do you think Jones is really retiring after the Stipe fight? Be it he wins, lose or draw

I feel if he wins against Stipe, he will call out a fight with Alex and the UFC will grant him that. And Tom gets screwed again

He's obviously going to angle for a fight with Alex Pereira.

If he gets his way (which is likely because the UFC is a joke) he won't retire.

If the UFC does their job and acts like a sport, and tries to make him fight the interim champion to unify the belts, he will retire.

Yes he'll stick around to fight Alex if he wins. If Jon wins as you said he'll angle for the Alex fight continuing to duck Tom, and knowing the UFC and Dana they'll probably grant him it if Alex beats Ankalev. If Stipe wins, Dana and Jon will likely push for a rematch in which will turn into a trilogy if Jon wins the 2nd fight. There is no good ending for Tommy here that doesn't involve the winner of next weekend to retire immediately and vacate.

It is very probable the Saudis will put up enough money to make Pereira vs Jones happen as part of their Riyadh Season marketing campaign. If that goes well, they will up the ante and make Ngannou vs Jones happen. The Saudi money will far outweigh Dana's objections and any hurdles posed by Ngannou's PFL contract.

I would love it if he gave Tommy from Atherton the fight.

I just can’t see it.

One can hope.

Would be super bad ass if he did fight him to wrong all the naysayers.

Dangerous as fuck fight for Jon.

He will not retire only if he somehow loses against Stipe.. What else he has to prove?

Yeah this is all unfortunately true.

The right thing to do would be to strip Jones of the belt if he's going to take legacy fights. But there is no way they are going to have Poatan lose out on the chance to become the first 3 weight world champion. So Aspinall would have to keep defending the interim belt in the meantime.

And should Stipe somehow win and they set up a rematch, same thing.

The fact that people are okay with a generational talent like Aspinall having to burn through his prime years beating all of the top contenders and not even getting a title fight throughout it all is ridiculous. Really exposes people for being the WWE circus fans that they are.

Who the fk is Tim?

If he beats stipe. He retries. If he loses it will be a instant rematch for the belt.

Jones can relinquish the belt and fight Alex …huge fight regardless

I don't think anyone is okay with what's happening to Tom other than Jon, Dana and Jon's fan boys. I also wouldn't doubt if Dana and the UFC is already in talks with Alex's team about Alex moving to HW to fight Jon if he beats Ankalev. Dana has been awfully dismissive regarding Alex moving up to HW, most likely in case Jon loses to Stipe, but I guarantee anyone on here that if Jon wins next weekend, Dana will be talking about the super fight between Alex and Jon while shooting down and deflecting every question asked about Tom getting a TS. "Tom hasn't done enough yet" "it depends on what Jon Jones wants to do. He's the greatest HW of all time. If he wants Alex he's gonna get Alex and Tom can either defend the Interim or sit on the shelf". I'm calling it now.

I think if Jones wins, and wins big, I believe he will not retire, and will fight LHW champ Alex Pereira at HW. That fight would be epic, and who wouldn't want to see it? Alex would be attempting to be the first 3 division champ, and Jones could add another big name to his legacy list. If Jones goes 5 hard rounds with Miocic, I think he will retire, win or lose. I don't think Jones will return and fight Aspinall though. As Jones has said, he wants to add name guys to his legacy list, and Pereira is the bigger name, and bigger PPV draw. Also, it is a better style match up for Jon. Being a Jones fan, I hate to say he is ducking Aspinall, but at this point in Jon's career, I feel has has the right to fight who he wants.

They are going to have to introduce Tom as the: "5 time defending interim champion"

Jones VS Arlovski will be next, big legacy fight right there.
