I have a feeling the backlash will cause Diaz/McGregor 2 to be scrapped from UFC 200

Heard it here first (ok maybe not first....)

Have you seen all the feedback? It's almost entirely negative.....only reason to even have it is the 1.5 mil buys UFC 196 did, and you could certainly argue a stacked card with some title fights headlining (including 145) and Nate still on the card could do just as well, with fights that actually make sense and have more consequences than two guys fighting out of their weight class who just fought (and it wasn't even that competitive). Also it seems like they'd have announced it by now, as I said in an earlier thread, and they haven't, and the more neghative reactions that come in I think the more they are prone to reconsider.

Let's hope.

Agree or disagree?

I hope do

Rather see Edgar Conor
Nate RdA

Though nate loses that again

Lolz, as if they care about backlash on the internet.

It'll sell well. That's all that matters to them (and to any business and sport)

The only backlash is here on Sherdog from shitty troll accounts like yourself. Sherdog =/= public interest.

your typed words to Dana's ears/eyes

I wish. Unfortunately UFC doesn't care about the dedicated fans opinions. The ones who watched before the sport was even popular. It only appeals to the casuals because they have no clue who Edgar is or what he has worked for

Dana doesn't care and never did about the hardcore fans. It will still sell to casuals, so our opinion (backlash) does not matter at all.

The will probably push the fight as redemption for McGregor, while painting Diaz as the bad guy. Put something on the line like make for McGregor's title or if Diaz beats him then he gets to keep him.
As like a wee Irish Goffer.

Backlash is primarily from the die hard MMA community.

Casuals will eat that shit up like a 4 star buffet.

Seeing how a 10 day notice fight nearly broke the PPV record, UFC execs are foaming at the mouth at what several MONTHS of cutting promos, calamity-riddled conferences, shit talking and near-brawls will do to sell the rematch.

Backlash? You realize the Sherdog forums don't represent real life, right?

Everyone but Conor thinks Conor is fooked in a rematch. It hasn't been finalized yet and the UFC has to be lurking these boards to see what fans are saying. Hopefully they say fk it and just feed him to Frankie.

The PPV buys they will get with these two against each other far out weighs any combo they would get with Dos Anjos or Edgar. So they will do it.

Stacking the card still wouldn't make it any bigger. This fight alone will sell more than any MMA fight ever. Add in a few solid undercard match ups and it'll push it over the edge.

If Conor wins expect a movie about this comeback. And Conor will host his own post fight presser. And will continue to call the shots. And let the fun continue. G'day to you.

You still think the UFC are calling the shots when it comes to who Conor fights? If it gets scrapped UFC 200 is a flop.

Dana: Yeah, were gonna scrap the rematch
Conor: Ok, have fun with UFC 200, i'm gonna take the summer off.

Rematch is happening because Conor said so, I'm sure the bosses would rather have him in a title fight.
