This is frustrating as a fan not going to lie.

I hate that Nate is chasing the money and therefor trying to get fights in a division he has no business being in, as well as fighting guys that will maul him that are like 2x the size of him... Hell Twoods 1 thigh is the size of half nates body.

Size difference aside, you have a guy who has done very well in the LW division, trying to fight at WW that he has never perfomed well at, its frustrating and annoying because nate is a great fighter at LW and can be a champion if he chose to grind for the belt and not for the money(from fans perspective, i dont blame him trying to get rich).

As for Twood, im extremely disappointed that the current WW champion is trying to chase random fights and dodge actual contenders in his division. This man was calling him self the GOAT of ww division when we saw those 2 razor close fights vs wonderboy(lots thought wonderboy won the 1st fight), but regardless, i dont want this to be another conor mcgregor division dodging show were the belt never gets defended properly and people are padding their stats fighting randoms instead of actual top tier challengers.

From a fans perspective, sure it can be a great fight because lets be honest, most of the Nate's fights are fun, but seeing nate lose for the simple fact of money when he can easily challenge the top LW contenders in his own division and actually compete there is sad, hopefully we can go back to actually fighting top tier talent and earning belts as opposed to just having a popularity contest filled with random rematches and hand picked opponents.

You would still watch the fight if it happens.

I understand WHY they're doing it completely, but yeah, this generation of 'privileged' diva fighters is getting ridiculous.

Has Nate ever won a welterweight fight in the UFC outside of Conor?

Of not then he is like 1-4 at WW with his one win being against a former 145er.

i don't blame Nate but Tyrone should be embarrassed

but i don't really like the WW division so let them screw it up even more

Titles mean basically nothing anymore, i like the fight, i'm cool with it.

Sorry.

Of course i would, i watch every event, but my point is that a fighter who is top tier at LW and has no business fighting at WW, especially when he hasn't been performing there makes 0 sense why the WW champion would even be calling out an unranked WW challenger when he has plenty of other ppl to face....

I guess i just wish that fighters would go back to fighting for the belt and not for the popularity, and that fighting for the belt would be as rewarding financially as it is trying to get Hollywood fights vs random fights in random divisions constantly holding up everything else.

Woodley has 2 defenses and 1 draw, and he think he's entitled to money fights instead of defending against legit competition.

That's so fucking lame. He should fight RDA or Covington. If he wants more money, maybe try to become a draw yourself.

I don't like the fight. Diaz has nothing to offer Woodley IMO.

And I'd prefer it if titles went back to meaning something again.

You should cry about it on the internet.

Bisping Vs GSP for middleweight title was even worse. At least TWood is the real WW champ.

I like how to type this long'ish response but you abbreviate "ppl".

Plenty of other people at WW? Woodley has beaten the "top guys" already. Nate makes as much "sense" as any of those other dudes that he hasn't fought yet.

If you're Nate and you're offered a title shot for absolutely no reason you take it

If you're Woodley and you're offered the easiest defence possible and a big pay day to go with it you take it

The people to blame here are the people who make the fights

WME, the UFC and to an extent Maynard and Shelby

This fight is #1 bullshit but I don't blame the fighters for it really

>tyron just wants money fights
>tyron wont defend his belt
>tyron is making ww a joke

meanwhile in reality, he had 4 title fights including 3 defenses in the span of 12 months beating the #1 (robbie), #2 (thompson), and #3 (maia). come off it m8

This plus..nate is a tall lw , whose to say hes still comfortable coming back down to 155 maybe the conor fights were a way for him to transition to ww fully.. nick and nate similar bodies in that they can cut and carry weight pretty good on there frame..nick fought at 185 before i can imagine nate could too

So everyone saying hes a lw..i dunno about that.. he can handle.multiple divisons due to his height, reach and frame..i think he can beat woodley.. and finally be champ..i think nates looking to cap hes career off soon and a belt is the only thing this diaz bro hasnt really been able to take home yet.. i wouldnt mind see nate or nick fight woodley for the belt..either one of them will make it a fight to remember unlike most of woodleys reign so far..

I've never seen so many people outraged about a champion wanting a money fight. Tons of people defending Bisping and Conor but almost nobody coming to Woodleys defense, even when he's had 3 title defenses against legitimate contenders.

But to answer your question, yes OP he should be defending against top contenders.

Hate the game, not the players.
