I've know about a neck crank but never a jaw crank. Stann on fs1 and chael on ESPN especially thought she just gave up

It's possible she did, but considering she probably couldn't breathe through her nose well and her mouth was covered (even if there wasn't enough pressure to really do the crank), the tap makes sense. It could have been a good jaw crank though.

But yeah, a jaw/face crank is pretty brutal. A guy's jaw broke in a fight a few months ago when he had a nasty one applied.

I think it was a legit RNC or a neck crank but I don't remember it being over the jaw. And I haven't watched the Tate/Nunes fight a second time, so I'm just going off my recollection, but it's possible she couldn't breathe and her jaw wasn't really the issue. Her breathing was definitely compromised from her nose being busted and the forearm over her mouth didn't help. She didn't comment on it so we may never know.

I've rewatched it ( Nunes/Tate) and there didn't seem to be any real pressure applied to the "crank" from what I could tell. And the choke was definitely not under the chin. But Nunes did have her arm over Miesha's mouth. That's why I think the tap was due to not being able to breath. Or I could be absolutely and completely wrong.
