Secret suspensions, unspoken retirements, never gonna fight again, ran from X, Y, Z... have been a lot of theories tossed out here the last 3 years lol

Now they have their new "3 years in the gym juicing and that's the best he can look? " narrative to cling to.

They apparently expected him to come out looking Mr Olympia ready, even though that does absolutely nothing for fighting.

Funny though, had he, they would've accused him of cheating... that's the sign of a real hater, imo, and I'm not just talking about Jon, but when you create a situation where someone is damned no matter the outcome, you're hating.
 
I said he would never fight again and i dont regret saying it.

Anyone complaining about a male fighter's body is DEF watching for all the wrong reasons, lol.
 
Credit to Jones for fully acclimating himself as a heavyweight.
Now that we saw how well that worked I wish Volk would've taken more time to train as a LW before fighting Islam.
 
Now people say gane sucks and hw sucks and jon is on roids before people said jon was getting slept and had no chance

yeah you’re right. Compared to GSP’s Bisping cherry pick, Jones dominated and also plans to defend. GSP cherry picked and then vacated. Props to Jones for that. And I’m thinking he’s gonna piss clean too. So Jones is looking pretty damn good right about now. Again, props to him.
 
He literally said out of his own mouth post fight “I don’t consider someone a champion until the defend it once”.

Sounds like he’s hell bent on fighting Stipe because it checks all the right boxes (defending against a name that’s the HW UFC GOAT).

Make this same thread after that Stipe fight and you’re probably right. He would be super smart to step away if he beats Stipe. He’ll be 36 going on 37 with literally nothing left to prove.

The same dudes that would grovel at the feet of GSP and Khabib leaving on top or labeling everyone past prime when they lose at a young age would be scathing at Jones doing it more appropriately.

Let’s be honest 2 successful HW fights is way more than they would have done. Curtis and Sergei might be interesting matchups but for him they’re incredibly optional at that point.

I would love to see him continue but he has more than cemented a legacy to go out on.

He probably wants the HW title record. That will mean title defense records in two divisions, a feat which probably won't be topped for at least a decade.
 
I'll be extra wrong when he fights Stipe. With Jones out for three years and Stipe two years I just didn't think it would happen.
There's worse things I've been wrong about.

I hope you're right because I'd love to see him challenged at heavyweight.

This Cyril Gane fight was a wash because it lasted two minutes.

I wasn't convinced he would but I did get annoyed at the prick teasing over that 3 years (no ghey). Was just glad to see him back fighting again.

Me too. Would love to see matchups against Blaydes, Pavlovich, and Ngannou if he comes back. If he can beat those guys in addition to Stipe, he'd be hard to deny.
