This man is a great fighter, with veteran-level patience and gameplanning.

Renato Moicano beat Jeremy Stephens in his 3rd UFC fight. He used a perfect gameplan, stuck with it, and was patient through Jeremy's crazy brawling style. That's nothing to sneeze at.

He beat Kattar recently using a kick-heavy gameplan against an arguably better boxer in Kattar.

I think this shows how disciplined he is, and how smart of a fighter he is.

I see these qualities taking him to the FW top 5 at least. Not saying hes the next champ, but he's definitely someone to look out for.

Was on his way to beating Ortega too.

Until he tried to do his best Thiago Alves vs Martin kampmann impression.

Moicano is legit. I see him dominating Cub if their fight is finalized

He's one of the smarter fighters in the division, and that carries him a long way with his well rounded skill set.

Absolutely.

He put on a low-kick clinic vs Kattar... Seemed like every combo he threw ended with a low-kick... Beautiful. He made Kattar look lost out there

good to see some other sherbros big on this guy. I think he's really solid too. Maybe not the best that's ever fought or anything like that, but he's a really good fighter.

I think too often people get caught up in discussing only the champs and guys near a title shot, or the new flavor of the month. Guys like Moicano are underappreciated.

He might be the next top 5 FW guy but Zabit is THEE guy, closely followed by T-City.

How he isnt already ranked in the top is beyond me. Its not like Stephens win was 3-4 years ago

He put on a clinic vs Kattar who was one of those "flavors of the month". 116 strikes landed in the 15 minute beat down, hit clean 1 time, & all anyone wanted to talk about was Zabit who beat the C-version of Kattar

He should be top 5 already he beat Stephens. He will go a long way though. Only loss was to Ortega in a competitive fight and I think he will beat Cub if that fight gets made.

Sad... but I seem to forget about this guy. But his time will come. Just keep putting in that gym work.

to be fair, I think Kattar is a solid fighter himself not just a flavor of the month kind of guy.

What Zabit did was crazy and I think it was a bit more pleasing honestly because it seemed as if he was going for the finish more (or at least the strikes looked like they were).

Not saying Moicano didn't, but it was a more methodical masterpiece.

Either way, I think he's a stud and look forward to him getting someone further up the food chain than him. Only thing is a lot of them are coming off losses or are booked to face each other. Cub, Lamas, Emmett are all top 10 guys that have lost their last fight. Does Moicano get someone like Frankie next?

and somehow, at the top of the division sits the monumental task of beating Max right now.

I'm not even sure how anyone could do it really, Max is so awesome. But, I think Ortega is so damn good too. That fight will be nuts. Stephens making a run, Aldo and Frankie still around. Zabit, Moicano making their runs now. 145 is a REALLY fuckin awesome division. It's definitely one of the most stacked divisions in MMA.

FW and LW are the best divisions. that 145-155 range is the perfect sweet spot for speed and power. just like in boxing.

Kattar is legit. Hes not a flavor of the month. Hes going to be a top 10 fw
