I Found a Dog

Lets be real TS, you stole him from a homeless person didnt you

yay! ^_______^

what was wrong with it's eye?
any names in mind?

His eye has conjuctivitis and possibly could be blind but can't tell untill the course of antibiotics is done and then I go back in about a week to do further tests on his eye. I named him "Guapo". I figured it's the least I could do since his eye is fucked. I'll make a video of him in the next day or two. He really is a gem. He's always trying to shake people's hand. Soooo chilll and laid back. Knows, "sit", "heel", "lay down", "off", and "shake". lolol. We are both two lucky guys. Dog and Man. lol.. I went and bought a lotto ticket too just incase...to really squeeze all the juice out of this karma. lol. :icon_chee

Says the resident misanthrope . I know you've had your issues man , and in light of knowing that can see how you've arrived at that position. If you look at the situation objectively, and not through the eyes of someone wallowing in their own misfortune, depression ( sorry) and perceived slights at the hands of others , than there's an equally good chance that a decent person lost their dog.

Or maybe, just maybe, someone thinks differently than you do and wouldn't do exactly what you would in every situation. Shocking I know.

Should've named him Two Eyes

Train that mongrel to not bark at neighbors and you'll be okay.

God damnit, who was that poster with the epic "stole a dog from a homeless guy" thread from years back? We gave him a mention when ever a worthy thread appeared, and now I can't remember his name...

I know I said it before, but it bears repeating - You are a good man El Chapo. The world would be a better place if it had more people like you.

All the best to you and your dog family moving forward.

Seriously don't know El Chapo that well yet, but seems like a nice guy.

If you really love dogs and want to rescue them, and you dont live too far from Mexican Border.

Go over Border and rescue those dogs. They need it badly, badly.

So I walked outside yesterday and I see this all white American Bulldog. I think it might be pure but it kinda has a bit of a pit look to it. Either way..I can see that it is VERY skinny and has been on the streets for awhile. So I whistle to it...and surprisingly enough it starts walking straight towards me. (my first reaction is to cup my balls in my hand)...but as it get's about a meter away I can sense that it's just desperate and not rabid or aggressive. So I run inside...grab some roast beef, a bowl of water, and a dog leash and go back to the front where this fucker is literally sitting on my porch waiting for me!

So he destroys the roast beef, and sits there drinking water for a good minute. I walk back inside to get a big bowl of dog food...and he eats it so fast he starts throwing it up. NEWAYS...as this is happening..I notice his left eye is fucked up. Either infection or he had owners that whooped his ass. So I wait for him to finish eating...and I make a noose with the leash and as soon as I put it over his neck he immediately starts heeling PERFECTLY. No drag, no pull. Like the dog was obviously well trained. I bring him inside and I notice more injuries and such. He's also kinda skitish. But I shit you not as soon as soon as I took a knee to look under his belly for anything remarkable he sit's down and tries to shake my hand. So I tell him to lay down. Boom. Like nothing. Sit, shake. Dog is a perfectly trained well tempered dog.

BUT the eye things really freaks out. I'm worried maybe he was abused by his owner...even thought that conflicts with how well mannered he is. I called the vet and they said they will have to scan him for a chip and obviously if he has one they have to contact the owners. So now I'm torn as what to do. I just want to do whats best for the dog. I could keep him and give him a great life. (He already met my GS and they get along great). I checked craigslist, and checked the online newspaper here in town and there's no ad looking for him. What do I do sherbros? Do I risk getting him scanned and him going back to a shitty house? Or is it not fair for me to assume his injuries are from his owner? Maybe there's a family crying for his loss as we speak. But again..no collar...no ads on craigslist. Here's a pic of the sweet fella. Discuss.

UPDATE: Dog has no chip. He's mine fellas! Boy did he hit the lottery! Well..we both did...cuz he's awesome! Knows like 5 different commands...is super docile with people I bring through the back door but still barks at strangers that walk by on the street! His eye is infected really bad so after the course of antibiotics I go back in 7 days to see if it's still functions. I named him "Guapo". I figured it's the least I could do for the ugly fella. :icon_chee

I'll post some more pics once he fills out and get's a good grooming. Thanks for all the wise words fellow sherbros! This turned into quite a philosophical debate about the greater good huh?!
edit (sorry about formatting)

This a great story. Feels all over.
