Seems like if they had some brains they could easily fix all of the problems.

1. All main events and title fights have a backup fighter in the contract that is ranked top 5 or top 10 or a contender in another weight division that is getting paid to train along side of them.

2. Some oversight from the UFC of training camps of the main and co main event to help prevent injuries with some rules. It would be fair because both fighters would have to follow it and out of camp you could train however you want and for non main events. Things like limiting sparring with strikes to the head, certain exercises that can cause injures, over training, dangerous weight cutting, help with nutrition and recovery.

3. Same day weigh ins with a reweigh in before the fight if you weigh 5lbs more than the weight class then you are fined more for every pound over. This would keep all of the missing of weight and pull outs of fights and health issues of the fighters.

4. Get rid of the 10 point must system and judge the fight overall, hire former and current fighters / coaches as judges

Many good points. I think some oversight over training camp and weight cutting a few weeks from fight day is justifiable.

Amazing how so many of these "athletes" cannot control their weight and weight cuts, and/or train so poorly that they are constantly injured and pulling out of fights.

So many of these "elite" champions just cannot make it to fight night if their lives depended on it. You never see it happen to this extent in boxing. Not even close. What gives?

Im on board with this.

I think a big problem is the huge variation in ways all the camps train.

There needs to be some type of scientific protocol for training that all the camps coaches need to take classes on.

You see some camps sparring too close to fight day, weight cuts that are managed by only the fighters themselves, ect

Everyone needs to get somewhat on the same page.

Too much experimental nonsense going on that jeopardize fight cards.

Ufc should follow TS's backup plan of having multiple accounts/backup fights...

WME's solution is to do nothing, sit back and hope everything works itself out

Part of it is the nature of the sport. Even if you're training properly, there's a high risk of injury.

The other part of it is that yeah, there's still a ton of dumbass bro-science bullshit and "just tough it out" mentality in the gym in this young sport. Combine that with the fact that there's real money to be made now and guys are getting protective of their spot. Years ago, they just needed to take a fight and collect a check. These days there's actual strategy. That's why you see the fight ducking, the pulling out of a fight with a hangnail, etc. There's just too much to lose with taking a loss these days.

To be fair, boxing does have more weight classes. And I do say that as someone who is against the idea of adding more weight classes.

Low risk high reward for trying to cut weight down to a division you don't belong in.

Only 1 account. I mostly come here to read news, I hate the overall attitude on here it is very hostile and negative so that is why I don't post much.

It's not a real sport
