I don't think Rakhmanov beats Edwards

Also Colby was shook by his footwork, afraid to engage. Shavkat will get in there. He knows his power can make a difference, unlike Colby, and has more tools to play with there
Yeah I predicted Colby would have a hard time even putting Leon on the backfoot because of his lack of power. A td threat is not enough when you're fighting a guy with great tdd and footwork like Leon who also has size and length on Colby. Usman had better luck pushing Leon back because of his power/td double threat but ultimately his striking is not that good.
Maybe Shavkat will have the right combo of striking, power, grappling and warrior mentality but it's definitely his trickiest matchup in the division.

REEEEEEEE
it's so hard to get behind finishers (no homo) because at anytime it could finish :O need Shavkat MEOW

idk wtf im talking bout mayb ei need sleep, maybe its my inner drunken fist meat im sleepy just need something spectacular in MMA like fedors streak before, maybe shav can go 30-0 w/ 30 finishes, who knows

No interest in watching either. I'm sure they are great but seems like a boring fight. May as well give it to Belal it's gonna be boring no mater what

It's a pick em fight. Rakhamov will fight very differently and pressure Leon and be more aggressive. And it's not like Leon is the type of guy who's got big power to threaten with to keep Shavkat off him. Leon has the game to win no doubt with his movement, precision and defensive wrestling. But I feel Shavkats pressure and clinch game will make it very tough.

What did he say?
Before the card he hinted Muhammad would be next …..last night he quickly said “ we’re not even thinking about that right now “ ….. maybe a feeling , but Shavkat much more marketable 18 -0 with 18 finishes sounds nice in a promo video ( and it is nice )

The Leon that lost the 5th round to the Ghost of Covington gets finished by Shavkat and Islam...
The Leon that's pissed enough at Covington that he wants to try and win by submission on the ground to embarrass him is irrelevant to any other fight matchup.

Edwards distance management is way too good and Rakhmanovs wrestling isn't the type of rasslin where he just needs to grab a hold of you and your doomed

Plus Edwards striking is miles ahead of Rakkie not to mention how patient he is. He'll win a borefest on the outside if he feels like it (and that's fine)
It's the fight we need to see though. Think it's highly competitive. Would favour Edwards.

I think Leon felt absolutely no threat from Colby at that point and really wanted to find a submission to prove a point. He only ended up on his back because he was tried an inverted triangle/arm bar.

I think he'd fight like he did in the first couple rounds against them...

That Leon won’t exist against Shavkat and Islam. Beware someone who can cruise to a win in a title fight (even vs a washed up Covington). For he who does that is someone to fear indeed ((Art of War B sides)

Leon won't make it past the 3rd with Shavkat, Shavkat is better everywhere. 17-0 with all finishes and just subbed a fighter that has never been subbed, while hurt I might add. The guy is a fucking monster.

I think it would be extremely competitive with leon slightly winning on points and then shavkhat murks him with a sub or KO. I feel like leon has to fight perfect the entire 25 minutes which isn't impossible but thats a long time to not get hit or taken down.

Shavkat finishes everything and everyone.
So far that's a fact. No reason to doubt it, and why the hell would you cheer for decision machines vs a true finisher?
18-0, finished everyone who dared.

I kinda see the same. Shavkat has the submission threat, but as long as Leon keeps it clean and doesn't get too confident in the offensive wrestling front, he should do fine. Leon can afford to fool around with Colby because Colby only has defensive BJJ and 0 stat offensively from a submission standpoint, but Leon should not try to prove a point on the mat with Shavkat. Frame, whizzer off singles, and wall walk if the fight gets to the cage. If Geoff can stop the shots of Shavkat, I think Leon can too. Leon has to worry about throwing lazy hooks though, because even if Leon has the advantage on the feet, if he gets sloppy, Shavkat will fire a sneaky counter, so definitely not an easy fight for Leon, but is completely within Leon's ability to retain the strap.
