Throughout these promos and interviews in the build up to this rematch he seems to be talking a lot about how he was emotional, how there was too much pressure, etc. Bobby strikes me as a very level headed person who's honest with himself so it's a bit strange that he's not attributing this loss to his technical mistakes more. Everything has been mainly about pressure and emotion from the content I've seen. Is this some type of ploy on his part to distract Izzy's team from the fact that he's made a lot of improvements and they'll be a lot of technical adjustments?

What do u experts think?

Started at 170, has losses against Court McGee, Stephen Thompson and a couple of names I don't recognize, Israel knocked him out in 2, over 30 retooling becomes more difficult. He is not in the elite category of Israel.

It's for the promos. Same with BB. The presure of hometown and what not. If they say or imply, or casuals imply a "I kinda suck" message, it's bad for business.

Well I did think Whittaker was fighting a bit uncharacteristic the first fight. He was trying to take Izzy’s head off. Too impatient. So I can definitely believe that impacted his performance.
Yeah I think we'll get to see the best Whittaker can possibly be in the rematch . He's on a good streak, has had some time off before to clear his head spend time with family, and he's motivated, calm and in his prime.
Sad thing is I still think he'll lose to Izzy with the way he enters striking range but it is what it is.

11-1 at middleweight

wins over romero x2, jacare, Brunson, hall, till, cannonier, gastelum and Tavares

only loss is to the current champ who’s undefeated at mw

Yet somehow “not elite”

Sherdog genuinely is a massive collective of the dumbest mma fans on earth

Somehow these mouth-breathers figure it's more relevant to bring up losses from 9 years ago.

He was extremely young at 170 he is definitely still improving, he is a more well rounded fighter than Israel and is absolutely elite, one of the best anti wrestlers in the game. Elite rangey counterstrikers are always going to give him trouble because his build and style, doesn’t mean he’s not elite or that izzy is on another level. Israel is a striking specialist and is one of the best in the game if not the best but he definitely has some holes in his game. If Rob can fight smart and put everything together this fight could go either way.

Seems like hes looking for a reason that he got absolutely dismantled to the point a rematch isn't worth watching.

Can he fix it? Dno but from what we watched in the first fight it's going to be tough.

I got big money on Bobby, he’s gonna beat Adesanya.

How many times has Israel been stopped?

Because pressure like that matters. It isn't just about the physical and techniques when it comes to fighting. Lots of stuff factors in how they perform and how they fight. People really underestimate the mental aspect that comes with fighting and big fights. It makes a huge difference in fights.

He also never shied away from his technical mistakes either, he just said the pressure and emotions made him make more mistakes.
