I don't dispute that Khabib is an all time great, but how can fans justify his legendarily shameful ducking of GSP? Perhaps the most shameful ever.

Give me attention everybody. I crave attention
He's trying a lot harder on this one than past points like "Ngannou couldn't get any striking on Renan, he panic wrestled after getting blasted by him" or "Volk's career will always be in question because he never fought the real best FW, Zabit"

Any arguments of substance to make for this particular thread, or now you've reported to desperate distraction attempts?

You've been presented with clear evidence. I'm not even sure what you are trying to argue against at this point?

Khabib wanted to fight GSP but simply would not fight GSP at 170 despite his age and inactivity, that's all there is to it.

Here is Khabib literally calling out GSP after he beat Iaquinta (2:25 in)....do people seriously have some kind of bizarre amnesia when it comes to this?

Good for you to pull up the clip, but was UFC even interested in making that fight in 2018? No and it didn't matter what Khabib wanted. Conor was next in line to fight him and everyone knew that was the next fight to make after Khabib became champion.

This is the type of distraction people attempt when they have nothing of substance to argue.

Man, where is that rjmrb guy or whatever his name is? At least he has a triple digit IQ, which makes him stand out on Sherdog.

Who the fuck cares what the UFC wanted. The point is that Khabib was completely unwilling to fight GSP at 170. My thread was not about if the UFC wanted to make the fight, I have no idea why people keep bringing this bizarre red herring up.

Surely there has to be at least one person on Sherdog with the intelligence and integrity to at least address the issue. Perhaps they could say yeah Khabib is right, GSP had too much of an advantage at 170... SOMETHING that at least stays on topic and addresses the reality instead of trying to deflect.

Bro this is pathetic denial, we have clear as day quotes from Khabib and GSP about the situation. It doesn't even matter if you feel like the fight couldn't happen due to external circumstances, the bottom line is Khabib wasn't willing to fight an old inactive fighter at 170, and demanded he cut to 155 for the first time in his life at nearly 40.
This thread is a pathetic attempt to create a controversy that never existed. Get over yourself. This fight was never even close to happening and it doesn't fucking matter for either one of their Legacies.

Cool deflection, anything substantive you want to say? No? Just personal insults and dodging? Sadly that's what is expected.

Very simple, is what I said true or not?

We're still doing this stupid fucking shit?

You realize your point is even stupider now, right?

The first thing to remember here is GSP making reference to his ability to make LW. That is the first step here. Now with that in context:

If we were talking about Khabib who had already ended or was ending his career facing GSP, then a one off at WW could be entertained, and we can inspect that with a microscope. But you're saying that a guy who IS CURRENTLY the 155 champ called for the guy who said he could try to make 155 is some kind of duck because the champ didn't suggest it for 170 (ya know, the division the champ doesn't have a belt in). Because that makes sense, right?

GSP a career WW, Khabib a career LW...how is that ducking? GSP ducked Silva now? I mean, he went after Bisping for the title but never fought Anderson Silva...

GSP literally said they were both about to fight when they were still young enough for it to make sense (pre Khabib retirement) and the UFC cockblocked it.

Shit thread btw.

Irrelevant regardless of if any of that is even accurate, Khabib made it clear he would not fight GSP at 170 due to what he perceived as too much of a disadvantage. That's it, period. That was his direct testimony. All the dancing around in the subject in the world doesn't change that. If the stars aligned, the timing was perfect, blah blah Khabib still was arguing that GSP was too big for him to fight at 170 and he simply could not tolerate such a massive disadvantage against 39 year old inactive GSP when Khabib was in his absolute prime.

And? No kidding....I'm quite aware. But Khabib wouldn't do it at 170.

What's great about Sherdoggers is they are low IQ but somehow manage to be rude and arrogant at the same time 😄.

I would say gsp ducking of Anderson was the most shameful, but it would be ok for khabibby to take the top spot in this regard.

There was never a time it made sense. It needed to be for a title. GSP was no longer the WW champion by this point. And Georges also was not about to cut to 155, and had no interest going back to 170 again for the same belt he already had. So he went up to 85. The talk around this fight was always a case of "what could have been" if georges was still the WW champion for Khabib to move up and challenge.

GSP threw out 155 in general, and then when Khabib wanted him at 155, GSP walked back to say that would be too much of a disadvantage to himself.

Sound familiar?

Funny how it works out to be Khabib ducking. But i guess that's the benefit of calling facts you don't like "irrelevant"
